I get what you're saying but it doesn't always work out that way. See: minstrel shows. As the old adage goes, you don't punch down in comedy. It's the intent and the reception that matters, and I don't think Kevin Hart's intent was to shed a light on gay rights issues, nor was it likely received that way by most of his audience. This as opposed to, say, a prominent gay celebrity joking about hitting his kid for wearing a pink scarf.
Of course, we'll never know - maybe you're right and that joke made the world a better place. I disagree, but I respect your opinion and give you props for sharing it in a well thought-out manner.
Oh I think I see, you're mad because I didn't acknowledge your whole thing about making fun of fat people and where we draw the line, etc.
I didn't do that because I wasn't talking about that and I'm under no obligation to make a point-by-point address of your entire post when I just want to single out one part of it.
If you don't want that to happen to you, either don't make shitty points or don't post them on the internet.
Nope, was never directed at you anyway and I'm fine if you didn't feel the need to answer it, or my long post before it. Honestly wasn't even 100% sure you'd jump in for 3-4 Dane Cook jokes today or not.
Didn't ask you too, cherry picking a point out of context for a quick "gotcha" is something I come to expect anyway. I didn't elaborate enough on that point to cover my own ass anyway so its my fault. Plus I'm not even sure why i care so much regarding that to begin with, its a fine point you made in that every day bigotry still exists and is gotten away with, I can't argue against that, nobody could.I didn't do that because I wasn't talking about that and I'm under no obligation to make a point-by-point address of your entire post when I just want to single out one part of it.
The only one making shitty points here is you. But you're allowed that, it is the internet after all, its 99% shit slinging. If you don't want that to happen to you, either don't make shitty points or don't post them on the internet.
"Sorry I made a shitty point BUT THE ONE MAKING SHITTY POINTS IS YOU!"
Kevin Hart had a better apology.
Bringing it full circle ya'll
I'm baffled how you could think for a moment I mixed you up with someone when you're basically hitting every point of Head-in-sand, bad humor argument I mentioned before. I've relented two points. One being I didn't clarify a smaller part of my argument enough to cover my ass, and that nobody could argue individual bigotries still and will always exist. If thats a shitty argument then by comparison yours are Diarrhea.
You don't need to address my post I'm sorry if you felt I wanted or needed you too. At this point our interactions have surely poisoned the well too much for an objective look anyway.
Incidentally, your point about gays having it pretty good unless they live in a Muslim country or the deep south;
Homosexual acts are outlawed in 72 countries around the world, including India, home to 1/7th of the world's population. Most of the island nations of North America and Oceania are also on the list.
The FBI has reported an increase in hate crimes against LGBT people in both years since Donald Trump took office, with 1200 total -reported- incidents in 2016. Reporting hate crimes to the FBI is not mandatory so it is unlikely this represents more than a fraction.
Anti-LGBT adoption laws still exist across the country, prominently in Michigan. Exemptions to anti-discrimination laws have been carved out by recent nationwide decisions to allow employers and businesses to refuse to hire or work for homosexuals if a religious objection exists.
LGBT teens still face the highest suicide rate of any demographic worldwide.
Sure, it's -better- than it has been. They're widely accepted in social circles. They have greater if not equal representation in most forms of media. It's frowned upon to joke about someone being gay in a derogatory way. But it's not great, and it's not even "pretty good." It's just "better."
Lost the plot on most of these arguments.

Oh look you reiterated your point about "individual bigotries" while I was typing. Wonderful.
Agreed, we still have a ways to go. Though I'd still argue in most places around America its "Pretty good", especially in Liberal heavy cities and states where progressive policies are more often than not accelerated.
Sorry if I did, I still agree with your point.
Dude this is literally the only interaction I ever remember us having and it started with you basically saying you'd been side-eyeing my every post for months and determined I was worse than Nynja, and then that my last 5 posts made you certain of that. My last 5 posts before that point were 2 making fun of Nynja, 1 Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure Joke, 1 rolling my eyes at your assertion about the current status of gay people, and then my wondering if you had the right person.
You’re right
Its ok for kids to beat up other kids for any reason, as long as that reason is not based on their skin color or sexual orientation...even though a 9 year old probably has no idea what their sexual orientation is. Hell, a teenager likely hasnt fully grasped their sexual orientation.
Holy fuck
I did some actual work for 1 hour and the thread took a whole different turn.
But yes, Zealot is worse than me, that was already known.
I wouldn't say Side-Eyeing you so much as just the entire Youtube section, Its nothing personal nor is it like I'm stalking you personally. I can tell you I don't have very inspiring opinions* on many of the posters here but I don't let it affect how I interact with them outside of Poop-Deck.
Your posts are simply easy to remember than the longer winded posters cause they usually all follow the pattern of either a short response or humor. You also double post a lot. This isn't a bad thing btw I'm not describing your style as bad. Just easier to remember. Plus your Avatar, I remember a lot of people by Avatar.
Anyway, sorry. Sincerely, I'm being needlessly rude even if treated in kind, and there was no need to be.
*exhibit A
I'm side-eyeing this and will remember it later.
Im so glad i fixed up that grammatical error
I almost got beat up for writing “you’re” as “your”.
behold the hell Kevin Hart hath wrought and despair
