I think Corbin’s days are numbered. He seems irreparable and impossible to salvage. Nobody can stand his ass, and it’s not the good kind of hatred either. Nobody wants to see him period.

We may as well just retire the term X-Pac heat at this point and rebrand it Corbin Heat. Sad thing is the guy has some talent. Not anything of a main eventer, or anything that should be a 100% focus, but that whole feud with Angle and being an authority figure that just sucked killed him. Best bet would be to shelve him for a while, then ship him down to NXT and rebuild himself. And bring back his old theme while they are at it.

Vince/WWE does weird shit sometimes, which is why it's actually a question of it it's an angle or they want people to be like "in case you didn't know, everyone else hates this too... but we're still going with it."

Considering how they can't ever actually make a plan and stick to it, I expect all hands on deck ready in case they're told they're going to face Angle with an hour's notice.

and +1 to bringing back Corbin's old theme. What a terrible change they made with that.

Gotta hand it to Vince with Kofi though, he's got as much heat on that angle as there could possibly be at this point.

I honestly can't see the heat on Vince going any more nuclear unless he walks out with a tiki torch and white hood. I haven't enjoyed an evil authority figure angle since McMahon/Helmsey era when they were trying to hold down Mick/Mankind

I kinda hope we get a Rudy moment where the entire SDL roster (minus Bryan and Rowan) refuse to perform unless Vince puts Kofi in the title match. But that might scare Vince into thinking his wrestlers could do that in real life and he’d wouldn’t try it.

A takeover of the show is about the only thing missing to make this completely mirror what DBry went through to get his title shot at WM30. I mean hell, they brought back the B+ player comment.

Overall, there were some good matches, but I don't think it was as strong a tournament as some other years. 32 is just too many. 24 might be a good number. Have 8 byes and then 8 matches in a single night to kick off the tournament to set the group of 16. In a couple months I'll probably have forgotten about anything but the matches of Tana/Ibushi/ZSJ, Ishii's first round match, and both semifinals.

It was the safe pick for MSG. Speaking of ROH, they are doing a show in Grand Rapids in May. Tickets range from $30 to $80. I've never been to a ROH show but for that price and the drive (about 80 minutes each way) the card will need to be pretty good. Thing is, there are only a handful of people in ROH that I'd consider entertaining. If there is no one from NJPW I'll probably pass.
