There is a 100% chance that Trump or Pence will pardon everyone involved, and that Trump will get his stacked SCOTUS to rule that presidential pardons also apply to state crimes.

Reserving any judgement until we have actual details. So far all we know is they agreed to something and want it implemented before the presidency in Mexico changes hands.
Please tell me that this doesn't need just a simple majority for approval as well.
yeah there are shockingly few specifics for what should prove a major revision with our two most important economic partners. i imagine Trump had little to do with the hands on negotiating so am cautiously optimistic some of his free-trade wonks hammered out the actual details but we shall see. there will undoubtedly be some protectionist clauses in it but ideally nothing too disruptive.
Sounds like you guys need an explainer!

Also since NAFTA will be renamed USMC, the USMC will be renamed NAFTA as part of the deal. The new acronym stands for "North American Fight Team A." Subsequently, the Navy will be renamed NAFTB.
there are few details in the provided Voxsplainers Archibald but i appreciate the effort
though, if the bulk of the agreement is really just these minor adjustments to auto, dairy, and copyright the whole endeavor was laughably overblown
That was my understanding of it from the start. NAFTA was never changing, all Trump could ever really do was renegotiate certain terms and then rebrand it. Like taking a really shitty damaged brand, I can't think of an example off the top of my head, and changing all the nameplates to read, I don't know, let's say "Scion."
Yeah, I'd seen those tidbits. Unless there's more this is a big nothingburger cooked up to give idiots who know nothing about trade something to cheer about at rallies.
Steve Bannon & Bill Maher Think Michael Avenatti Could Win in 2020
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/mi...-so-2018-09-30"He’s got a fearlessness. And he’s a fighter. I think he’ll go through a lot of that field, if he decides to stick with it, like a scythe through grass."
“If Bernie Sanders had an ounce of Avenatti’s fearlessness, he would’ve been the Democratic nominee, and we would have had a much tougher time beating him,” Bannon continued. “Now, I don’t believe a professional politician is going to be there at the end of the day. I’ve always said it’s going to be someone like Oprah, or Avenatti, or somebody that’s more media-savvy that’s going to be there.”
He could be the Trump of 2020, the guy who’s the outsider, who blows through the regular politician because he looks different,” Maher said.
Ive seen this play before, its called "The Pied Piper" last time someone tried it, it backfired stupendously.
