Philly fired GM Ron Hextall
and SCC Tom "WhatAShitContract" Wilson scores again. 4 games in a row.
Nick's assist on that goal makes him #2 in points all time for the Caps, he passes Bondra.
Big win for the Leafs tonight. Pastrnak continues to be a Leaf killer.
Ovi also tied Iginla and Sakic for 15th most goals at 625.
He's on pace for 61 this season. Laine is on pace for 71 himself lol.
Now that he's got his cup, all I want Ovie to accomplish now is becoming the top all-time goal scorer in the NHL. Gonna be hard as fuck to catch Wayne though. Assuming he hits 60 this season, he'd have to score at least 40 for another 6 seasons or so
I added the rate he'd have to score in an edit above![]()
We'll see where he is at when his contract is over. The NHL might have another lockout that year and they might deny NHLers a chance to play in the Olympics again, so Ovi could leave for the KHL, for one last chance to play for Russia.
IF somehow, the NHL doesn't lockout AND they let players play int he Olympics, we might just get to see Ovi chase for the record.
Someone on Reddit posted a "reasonable" seasonal outlook if things do fall into place for it.
2018-19 (33): 50
2019-20 (34): 40
2020-21 (35): 38
2021-22 (36): 35
2022-23 (37): 30
2023-24 (38): 28
2024-25 (39): 27
2025-26 (40): 24
2026-27 (41): 16
That definitely seems doable. But yeah, barring potential lock-out season and his inevitable decline, should be interesting to see where he finishes. I mean, health and fitness standards are waaaaay higher nowadays compared to even 10 years ago, but the style Ovie plays isn't necessarily easy on his body. He's obviously arguably the best pure goal scorer in the game today, but he's also a fucking wrecking-ball too when he's in top form, and that will wear him down eventually unless he changes his play-style.
Tonight's game between the Kings @Canucks, the 50/50 draw is already over a million dollars.
Impressive road win from the Ducks in Tampa where they dont really have alot of luck. Snap a 6 game road losing streak.
Buffalo has won 10 in a row
They have the most pts in the NHL
Hellebuyck has been so bad this season and Maurice continues to go on with him. Our backup has stellar numbers yet won't give him a couple games in a row to get Hellebuycks head out of his ass. This game squarely is his fault tonight, two fucking soft goals. 2 GAA on 5 SOG in the third period.
Amazing.
Three of the top four teams in the league are in the Atlantic.
GM Jack Eichel has done a hell of a job with that team
Wow tons of empty seats in Florida.
