Ovi, 50 in 50, do it.
Burakovsky trade rumors starting up, Vancouver is the first rumor on the list, though I don't see anything on their roster I want (who they would trade). Tanev is about the only guy I would want of the older guys and his contract wouldn't fit atm, (not to mention Bura for Tanev isn't a good trade for VAN).

The article makes a great job of highlighting how miserable it is to be a hawks fan right now.
Canucks are 4-1-1 since they traded for Leivo. Thanks Toronto! Also lol philly

Status quo in Philadelphia. No decision has been made on Dave Hakstol.
Corey Crawford has a concussion
It wasn't that long ago (like 2 weeks) that the Pacific was the joke division and everyone, myself included, thought only the top 3 teams would make it into the playoffs and the 2 Western wildcards would go to the Central. And now Vegas and Edmonton hold those 2 wildcards and Edm is 3 points up on Minne. Kind of crazy how much of a turnaround has happened for the division. Even Vancouver is only 3 points back, much to the dismay of all the Canuck fans I know who want them to tank lol
Kind of nuts too how far Chicago and St. Louis have dropped, Chi-town only being 1 point up on LA for worst in the league.
It's pretty easy to see why CHI is so bad. They spent years giving out shit contracts, only to have teams like FLA and ARZ save their asses and give them a place to unload them. Now, nobody wants to touch their shit contracts. Also, giving 6m to a mediocre goalie was a mistake, and to compound it, he unfortunately hasn't been healthy since. They got their Cups, but they did an awful job managing their cap for years.
STL is just suddenly bad, partly because Jake Allen is just bad and they have been hoping for years he would figure it out, but he's only gotten worse. It's kind of funny when you see guys like RoReilly, or Duchene beg to get out of an organization, and the next year the place they left is good and the place they joined is shit.
Oh yeah Hawks have been in cap hell ever since they gave Kane+Toews+Keith their big contracts. I'm just more surprised that, despite still having some top-tier talent, they're just 1 point off of worst in the league.
The Blues are more of a head scratcher. Last year they were 5th in the Central, but the 6 seasons before that they were competitive as fuck. A couple seasons at the top of the division, even had one playoff run where they made it to the WCF too. That being said, I have not followed their roster at all outside of the Allen/Elliott debate from a couple years ago, so I have no idea what sort of personnel changes they've made outside of giving Elliott to us >_>
A combo of their older guys not performing at all, like Steen and Bouwmeester, and their defense has been garbage, which is especially bad since they haven't been a big offensive machine. Pietrangelo is currently injured as well, not that he was playing well before that.
They moved on from guys like Backes, Stasny and Shattenkirk, who drove their team's offense, and the few replacements they brought in haven't really filled the gaps well(Schenn, RoR). Otherwise they tried to bring in older guys who had decent seasons elsewhere, like Perron and Bozak this year but they have been mediocre as well.
Seabrooks contract is the contract that is strangling the Hawks. It isn’t Toews/Kane/Keith.
Also Crawford is great, but the concussions for the past, now two, seasons obviously hurt the books. He’s worth the money if he can stay healthy. With him out though the hawks are for sure donezo and this season is a wash. If his concussion is as long term as last year’s he might be at the end of his career.
Flyers fired Hakstol, again, for real this time.
AHL coach Gordon will be the interim coach.
Philly actually fired Hakstol today
Hey guys, did you hear Philly was thinking of firing their head coach Dave Hakstol?
