Pretty much right around what I thought he'd get. Signing Matthews and Marner isn't the problem, it's filling out the rest of the roster when those two are done.

Wasn't really serious. It's a bit high for my taste but not unexpected. Toronto doesn't have the 'take less to build the team around you' culture, which will hurt them when it comes to depth.

I know this is probably not the most appropriate place to put this but I didn't know where else would be. I had to have abdominal surgery last month and I haven't posted on the forums in a while. It was rough and I had to stay in the hospital longer than I thought because of a complication. Sinse I have been home I have just been resting and trying to build up my strength. I finally feel good enough to start to get back in the world so to speak. Just thought I would give an update.

I think I'm just going to root for the Preds for the rest of the season fyi. >.>

Its not long term team friendly: signing for 5 years means they didnt buy any UFA years, but on the other hand, 11.5 is lower than the 12-13 he probably could have gotten if he signed for a full 8 years.
