You're still top of your division, a GOOD gap ahead of the first non-wildcard team AND you have the trade deadline coming up with plenty of rumours going around about what your GM is trying to do. Yeah sure, your team is faltering but it's not time to give up on the season yet lol
With a quarter of the season to go, and how they haven't turned things around in almost two months, I don't agree. No point in investing in a team like this, better to save the assets.
Their underlying numbers have been mediocre for the entire season. Coaching had no issues because "points!".
15 point difference with 22 games to go. Plenty of time for Jets to continue to trash it up
Post game pretty much confirms my stance all season. Maurice is incompetent, members admitting they're overrated and team giving up on games.
Gongshow.
Flames looked real good. 3 points up on SJ, currently 13 up on Vegas (who are playing Bawhstun right now). 3 wins in a row and getting back to playing how they were before the all-star break
Lucky number 7th win in a row!
You've been saying theyre shit since...well I called you out back on Nov 24...so 12 weeks later after I called you out when the season was only 7 weeks old, the Jets are STILL among the top teams in the league, and yet by the way you post, you'd think they're in the running for Hughes.
I still feel like most don't understand.
Despite their standing, they are a bad team. Like high shooting percentage, their play by relying on goaltending and league leading PP GF was going to normalize. It has not been fun hockey to watch, just frustrating hockey.
Their advanced stats are just....meh. Also doesn't help the two supposed leaders of the team have been leading by example by coasting. Especially Scheifele. I don't know what's up with the dude, but he's been a defensive liability and just constant controller disconnect moments.
They are a complete mess right now and have had more than enough time to fix whatever issue has been going on behind the scenes but with a shit coach like Maurice, and Chevy only reacting when the teams in a drama spotlight, I only expect a first round exit via a sweep if they manage to get into the post season.
I like that the Ducks are going to re-sign silfverberg but I'm not sure I like that contract. I dont mind the term it's the money. 5.25mil for a 20 goal scorer seems a bit rich. I know he was due a raise because of how hes played in the past for us but I think it's a bit much. Especially when this team already has a few bloated contracts as it is. And we all know who those are.
Jets are 8th in PDO at 5v5 with a 1.005. While its above 1, its not a sky high PDO like Torontos 1.029 or the Islanders 1.028. A top team having a PDO slightly above 1 isnt grounds for regression. The Jets PDO has actually gone up since the start of the new year, when they were at 0.998.
Not worried about Toronto's PDO, as it's being inflated by a higher shooting percentage, which several of the Leafs have year over year. The Islanders' is inflated by a combined SV% of nearly 0.940, which is just not sustainable.
Hagelin to Caps for 2019 3rd and conditional 6th in 2020
solid deal for 4th line speed, still expect to find a dman and trade burakovsky.
Ehlers wearing a full contact jersey at practice, but doubtful for tomorrows game. Not that him coming back will solve all of the teams woes...but can't be worse with him in...right?
Dzingel, Stone, Duchene scratched.
It begins.
