Apparently the Flames had a deal for Zucker lined up but it didn't get filed in time, and they're pissed.

The rumours I’m hearing are that either the call didn’t make it to NHL offices on time or that Frolik was part of the deal but refused to waive his NTC

Edit: apparently there was a deal in place for Alex Edler too that included a contract extension but he also choose not to waive his NTC and come to Calgary. This one I’m not buying as much though as the rumour comes from Jason Botchford who isn’t the most credible reporter to me (he’s also the guy that leaked that Thornton comment about what he’d do if he scored 4 goals in a game)
