If manchin and sinema dont' fall in line for something like this, there is no reason having them.

Time for Justice Harris, or is that too politically expedient?
Just nominate Killary or Obama if you want the right to commit mass suicide
obviously we have to reach across the aisle and appoint Trump to heal this divided nation
Michelle Obama is a lawyer.

almost singularly unqualified to be a SCOTUS Justice so it would be keeping in the spirit of Barrett and Kavanaugh
but the big name floating around the politosphere is Ketanji Brown Jackson from DC's Circuit Court, unimpeachable credentials including a clerkship for Breyers (fun fact she's family with Paul Ryan, her husband's brother married to his sister).
also seeing Leondra R. Kruger from California's Supreme Court, and buzz about Stacey Abrams's sister, Leslie Abrams Gardner, but she's only a District Judge and it would be a reach. Michelle Childs is maybe a little more probable from a similar position.
but would be a little surprised if it wasn't Jackson. Breyer would presumably be much more comfortable with this retirement if his replacement-to-be was promised to be an old beloved clerk, a la Kennedy stepping down for Gorsuch. she was also confirmed by all 50 Senate Dems and 3 Repubs just last year so the nomination fight would likely not be as severe as most.
51, 45, and 47 years old. I like it. Leslie Abrams Gardner was born in Madison so she's my vote
Isn't there nothing McConnell can do about this for the rest of the year?

they both already voted to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson to the DC Circuit, as did Murkowski, Graham, and Collins. nom might not be her and the calculus changes for some politicians as a SCOTUS justice is so much more scrutinized, but think people are overstating the kind of fight this will be. a liberal justice replacing a liberal justice is generally speaking not an especially difficult process (especially on a 3-6 court).
Repubs will bitch and moan but the real fight will come when/if a conservative justice is being replaced by Biden and/or he tries to get a liberal Justice through a Republican Senate after the midterms.
Fuck it, just put Anita Hill on the SCOTUS and drive Clarence Thomas into early retirement.
Someone herd Feinstein back into her bounce castle. We can't lose a senator in the next few months.
Senate is fine. If she croaks, Gavin Newsom would appoint someone to finish her term.
They can't be seen to be working with the Dems by their base
Yep. This is going to be easy bait for the GOP to do its usual racist statements for midterm ads.
