Clarence Thomas has been absent and stated to be hospitalized recently and now news is coming out about the full text messages between Thomas' wife Ginni and insurrectionist leader Mark Meadows. Thomas was the only justice who voted to not send the records to the Jan 6th Committee for investigation. No mystery that his wife and perhaps Thomas himself could potentially be criminally exposed.

So Manchins a yes so I guess the question is how many Rs vote no for appearances?
Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
I imagine all of them.
I would think we could eke a yes out of Murkowski, or Romney. Maybe Tim Scott? Or Susan Collins to try and play off her voting yes on Kavanaugh and Barrett.
Collins will likely be a yes. Murkowski is up for reelection, but Alaska is ranked choice, so she's going to win that easily as democrats will pick her as a 2nd choice and tank whoever her key opposition is.
Collins is a yes.

Jackson met with Mittens 1 on 1 too, he said he enjoyed it but is keeping mum for the moment. as stated Murkowski is very likely a yes as she voted to confirm her to DC Appeals and wins Alaska without the state GOP machine backing her. she's also facing a statewide election with no significant Dem to her left, but blood-red conservatives running to her right. makes tactical sense to OK Jackson and gobble up some liberal / moderate voters that don't have a better option, or will rank her 2nd. on the other hand Lindsey Graham is definitely backing out despite also confirming her to the appeals position.
final guess is Romney joins the moderate ladies and we wind up 53-47. but also it is irrelevant with Sinema and Manchin falling in line. Jackson will be confirmed and there is nothing even a unified Republican Party could do to stop it.
Romney and Murkowski both opt in, it'll be 53-47
