I just want to point out that all of your arguments against these people are logical, sane, and completely correct. It also does not matter. They also get to vote, but they tend to live in places that make their votes more valuable, and we tend to live in places that make our votes less valuable.

There are exactly two options now: move to a blue state, or get ready to burn it all down.

The other side is right now cheering the purported end of Roe because it will end the killing of babies. They're talking about it right now, all over the internet, using those words.

It doesn't sound right to me at all, it sounds like a dystopian hellscape.

Does anyone really think that these people are going to one day roll over and be like, 'hey guys y'know what, abortion isn't murder, our bad, let's be friends again!' What is the endgame here? They spent the better part of a century working to overturn Roe and here we are. The people who care about outlawing abortion treat it like a crusade. The geographic sorting by ideology is already well underway, for this exact reason amongst others. It doesn't sound right, but what is the alternative?

Evangelical christians didn't care much about abortion when Roe was passed (anti-abortion was mostly the provenance of catholics) until they realized that the pro-lifers were also pro-segregation

then they jumped in with both feet

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here. How can someone not fit into either "Let people have abortions" or "Don't let people have abortions"? How does one straddle the gap between these two absolutes?

It is and it's fair. The people who want abortions to be available aren't telling people who don't want them that they have to have them.

That's a key difference. it's not the same as telling someone else that they shouldn't be allowed to have them;

WHY are we even talking about this? All I did was ask Day who could possibly fit between "You can have abortions" and "You can't have abortions" and now this mythical third position of "You must have abortions" crops up and I'm still trying to understand how there is ANY room between the first two on the line? Is my question a hypothetical? Who fits between "You can have abortion" and "You cannot have abortion". I said BETWEEN, not super extra crazy far off the end of the scale.

My point is that the people who are against abortions want to force their decision on others.

The people who want CHOICE are not forcing their decisions on others, they let people make decisions for themselves.

So it's already not a black and white; the only way the people who are fine with abortions would be the same as those who want to ban it are if they forced people who wanted kids to get abortions (the same way the people who are against abortions want to force ppl who don't want kids to have kids)

I mean is it that hard to understand? do I need to break it down to a 5th grade reading level? would that make it easier to comprehend?
