It's what I've been saying. Regardless of whatever Kavanaugh did/didn't do she won't vote yes. She could kiss her Alaskan seat goodbye if she did. If she wanted to play up the angle that it was also due to believing Ford to pull in some extra votes she totally can but that's not why she will vote no in the first place.
I don't think Manchin has the balls to be the only Democrat to go to the other side while also being a tiebreaker vote.
I'm still holding down a bet that Flake + Collins will say yes.
In Manchin votes yes Chuck Schumer should kiss his leadership role goodbye. Especially with a single R voting no now.
w/ Merkowski voting no this puts additional pressure on Flake and Collins with vote no. Merkowski just won her seat though so she's probably more worried about decisions he would make down the line that would affect her base in Alaska.
Its a toss up and honestly I'm glad the people in DC are fighting the fight.
I would be shocked if Flake says no given he's already leaving the Senate.
He's already in a position where he'll be savaged no matter what he does, but in my experience lefty protesters have way shorter memories than MAGAites
If Manchin is the tiebteaking yes vote, he will lose more support that he will gain. He's still a democratic after all. He will lose a number of Democrats and potentially blow his pretty safe lead.
Flake says hes a yes "unless something big changes" (it wont)
if Flake hadn't looked like shit at the hearing last week I would've thought so as well but it seems like there is a conscious biting away in there.
If he's not the swing vote I almost hope Manchin does vote yes just so he can lose his seat and Schumer gets kicked out.
I'm really over these guys.
If flakes a yes, I suspect Collins is a yes. Because flake absolutely does not want to vote Yes.
Collins is going to decide well before Flake. At 3pm eastern.
Flake is just going to follow the moderate pack or better or worse. Manchin will be his vote a secret until the actual vote.
I don't know why there needs to be all this fucking drama jfc.
barring a last second attack of conscience "unless something big changes" = Flake is a yes. it's up to Collins.
Not budging from my prediction. Manchin no, Murkowski no, Collins yes, Flake yes, Pence breaks it.
Oh but wait
They're down a Senator and the time to vote starts counting down from when the cloture vote took place.
If Daines is gone and the No votes have Murkowski, that's 50-49 against.
