"We're cancelling a planned six-figure digital video ad expenditure for Phil Bredesen in Tennessee due to his Kavanaugh position. And similarly will be pulling all planned campaigning on behalf of Joe Manchin in West Virginia if he votes yes. Kavanaugh is unfit for the Court."
Seems smart
Spoiler: show
Obamacare would be dead without Manchin, but if we're going to ride a blue wave in the fall then out with the old and in with the new.
We needed him in the past, but unified standards are worth something politically. Trump solidified the Republican base with an unyielding commitment to racism. The Democratic party could do the same with civil rights and feminism.
tbf, a grudging vote for Obamacare once in a while isn't what Democrats writ large want out of the senators that wear their colors. They want a real social safety net wrapped and delivered by someone with 21st century social norms.
Collin's opponent already sitting on over 2.3 million lol.
We'll see if it matters. Collins won by an enormous margin last time.

re Manchin, you guys know he isn't running against a Democrat right. if he loses it will create one Republican Senator Patrick Morrisey until 2024, a man who recently attacked Manchin for not supporting Kavanaugh sooner and for not being more pro-gun rights. a man who threatened to sue Trump if DACA wasn't ended. a man who wants a balanced budget amendment. a man who wants to overturn Roe v Wade. a man, in short, who is an asshole.
i was too young at the time but i'd like a time machine to go back and punch ever smarmy liberal fuck who went 'conspiracy! smear!' over every Clinton allegation in their smarmy fucking faces. how the feminist party not only put into office but defended for decades a serial sexual predator-
It's pretty telling that Republicans impeached him for lying about a blowjob instead of raping Juanita Broderick lol

also telling, they are going to put an attempted rapist on SCOTUS while pretending to believe his victim
this is a shameful day. shame on the Republican Party, shame on the House of Reagan.
Alleged* god its like you didnt even hear Collins speech AG
Yeah. She won by 37, granted in a good year for Republicans (2014) but that's a ridiculous margin for a state as blue-leaning as Maine. Plus it's small and ethnically homogenous, it's easy for her to build her own brand in the state and she's won election by an increasing margin each of the 4 (FOUR) times she's won.

Has little to do with Ford's accusations.
Not sure if this was posted earlier, Kavanaugh himself was contacting former classmates at Yale and telling them not to say anything bad about him if the FBI came a-knockin'.

Also a number of Kavanaugh's friends were coordinating to try to discredit and/or find contradictory materials refuting Ramirez's eventual "pulled his dick out" accusation months before it was public. The story detailing Ramirez’s accusation was published in The New Yorker on Sept. 23. Charlton told NBC News that, in a phone conversation three days earlier, the former classmate told her Kavanaugh had called him and advised him not to say anything "bad" if the press were to call.
Then on September 21, according to the texts, that same person sent Charlton a text accusing her of disclosing their conversation to a reporter. “Hellllllooooo. Don’t F****** TELL PEOPLE BRETT GOT IN TOUCH WITH ME!!! I TOLD YOU AT THE TIME THAT WAS IN CONFIDENCE!!!”
Yeah we know this was all a sham.

Yeah, I've more or less been bringing this up elsewhere since I may be the only person within relative proximity of WV politics. It's a lose/lose for the Dems (and the state, imo) since there isn't an alternative to rebuke Joe. Unfortunately, people buying into the hype that the GOP can some save Coal or other failing industries does no favors, either. Pretty much every ad I'm seeing here is, "Trump says he's good, so he's good!" or "EVIL OBAMA AND HILLARY LIBERAL APPROVED, VOTE THEM OUT!" because fuck having a platform.
You can be a Democrat from a red state and still oppose Kavanaugh:

The only reason Manchin is in this predicament is because his brand is being contrarian and bucking the party. West VA does have some unique challenges (like struggling to stay ahead of Mississippi in all undesirable stat lists), but the switch to being a reasonable person is more of a branding problem for Manchin than a policy problem.
