Just a heads up. I know this is a very charged topic and has everyone all heated. But BG has always strived (STRIVED) to limit people to attacking the positions, not the person.

I could write up a post w all the Fords inconsistencies and how DiFi and Fords lawyers were either incompetent or shady, but honestly no one is changing their minds at this point. Truth is we will never know becuase it is 100% he said/ she said. Fords named witness to the party said she has never mett Brett and insisted she wasnt there, (later said she believed Ford but maintain her statement after their friend Mclean pressured her per WSJ). So I dont think well ever really know 100%. I said it on the day of the hearing, she sounds sincere but so does he, imo.

A lot of people put weight in Fords story due to Ramieriez and Swetniks claims, but I think if you read those stories objectively and are honest with yourself they dont really hold up. I saw the statement about him calling his friends about Ramieriez but she herself was calling around their group trying to remember if it was him, and the New Yorker asked him for comment, so like obviously he knew someone was about to accuse him of something, so no shock he wants some defense of his character.

I think its fair to take a step back and look at the last 35 years of his life, and from what I can tell hes been an upstanding citizen, and decent judge. I would be way more inclined to believe he was some kind of "serial sexual assaulter" had there been any whiff of this in his adult life, and Im sure Farrow, FBI, etc would have found it long before September if they could.

My opinion is obv in the minority on BG, but this was a public "trial" of a man in case that didnt have enough evidence to actually go to trial. Play kangaroo court games and win kangaroo court prizes.

The whole thing was disgusting honestly as drama filled as this circus has been I honestly hope I never have to witness this kind of thing again.

These self declared defenders of democracy were willing to burn a person on a stake without any corroborating evidence. I live in Colorado and fucking Corey Gardner just put up a commercial in which he shows three people, Clinton followed by Bill Cosby and Kavanough last. And yet his decorum was totally appropriate and non-partisan, right?

I mean, I advocated for Cosby until he was proven to be guilty. Franken too.

Kavanaugh didn't show me someone who wasn't guilty. He showed me someone who was petty, childish, and entitled to the job. He didn't handle this professionally, regardless of the "other side".

He also perjured himself several times.

Now should I want someone like that defending the law? Fuck no.

Whether I believe Ford or not (I do) Kavanaugh had plenty of opportunities to convince me he could do this despite the allegations. He failed to do that.

Kavanaugh keeps his job, and everyone who is a Republican believes him over Fords. I dont know how that is equal to ruining his career. Fords's professional career is in more disarray than his would have been.

What were people expecting? America was going to excommunicate him from the mainland and send him to Puerto Rico or something?

i would ask you this Day, given you believe we can't know what happened one way or the other with 100% certainty (something i agree with though i lean very heavily towards he did it given the paucity of false claims and his lying about trivial matters), would you still see him confirmed? in a court of law he would walk, on that we all agree. there is not enough evidence to convict the man. but for a lifetime appointment to SCOTUS? are you really comfortable with that given the 20% or 30% or 50% or whatever % chance you believe it to be that he is an attempted rapist?

Gorsuch got in without the circus as he was an actual choir boy at that prep school not a sloppy drunken jock pretending to be one. Hardiman and Barrett would likely cruise as well. why die on the hill of Kav when you find his accuser sincere?
