im actually surprised that her chemo was disclosed to public so randomly. per the letter she has been on immunotherapy and this is her 3rd month of chemo. odd timing. really no reason to do so unless to prepare the public for her soon-to-come death. hard to say

I agree with the point being made, but SCOTUS isn't supposed to rule based on those factors right? They are supposed to rule based on if the Governor has the power to do such a thing, not that doing it would be hypocritical.

Please correct me if I'm wrong on that point.

Here in MI, bars were allowed to open for a while, but they still kept the gyms closed. I felt it was dumb that one should be open and not the other, but the governor does have the power to do it.

Edit: I guess the main point that i'm making is, to rule the other way would open the flood gates for everyone to say they should be open because the governor shouldn't have the power to make those choices.

Gyms aren't specially protected by the constitution though. If you are going to restrict houses of worship at all they shouldn't be more restricted than other non-essential venues.

Hes not wrong tho. If we can have these businesses open, then churches should have some avenue to be open in a similar capacity as well.

I'd close em all, but theyre clearly favoring businesses over religious activities.

That is a really good idea if people feel the need to be there in a group. Otherwise, i don't see the problem with doing it over zoom/teams/webex. Shit i was teaching gym classes (Some classes had 50+ people) using those and it worked out great, I'm sure someone standing in one spot and just talking could do the same.

I guess the big thing for churches is they feel they won't make much money without guilting people in person.
