I'm not the best at determining what reviews to give merit, but the only negative ones I can find are riding the transphobia train, overblowing at gamification of some things, throwing a massive fit about continuity (spiders in the forest is apparently the worst thing ever?), or giving beef about repetitiveness, which yeah, for an open world game, I get it being repetitive. Some are calling it Elden Ring for babies, guess that's par for the course with comparisons to Souls-likes. Even most of the ones who came out negative say it's a good game, so idk who to believe lol. Girlfriend is a massive HP fan and we'll be starting it tonight, she even took vacation tomorrow to zombie out and play all day.

I mean a lot of the positive reviews are shitting on the same things and then saying so variance of "buts its Harry Potter 9/10".

I think the biggest thing for me is I guess I'm just kind of over HP. I enjoyed reading the books (in secret because lmao christian parents) and the movies were all right but even ignoring JK's stuff I just don't feel much excitement for what I've seen.

Wait is that all versions? I never saw a time listed for PS5, just the date. Googling it now and I'm still not finding a concrete time for PS5, PC version just says the 1PM bit.

Just write off all the reviews that don't support the narrative you're trying to create and only consider the ones that agree with you as legitimate.

ShillUp is who I trust for reviews and he just revealed in his "This Week in Video Games" that the PR firm handling codes for WB blacklisted him.

He was promised a code, then when they were distributing codes they told him it was for media only, but when reviews dropped, it showed that other content creators were given codes. He's not going to be reviewing the game now thanks to the stacked February release schedule.

There sure are a lot of people that want the game to fail.

Girlfriend is prolly about 10 hours into the game at this point, Revealo or whatever has been cast over 9000 times. From watching her and helping with some fights, my only real complaints so far is anything involving gear, it's not that impactful and it's an annoyance that your inventory cap is so low. Instant transmog with no hoops to jump through is great though. Targeting in fights when there are 4+ enemies stacked can get pretty frustrating, specially when you're trying to break a shield but it targets the adjacent enemy with a different shield. Fighting itself is not very challenging, your defensive options are pretty OP and the parry window is enormous. Comparing it to Elden Ring or a Souls game doesn't fit right IMO, feels more like Spiderman or an Arkham game, but it works well enough. Fan service is hitting all the buttons according to her, Potter was never much my thing.

Preordered this for the wife who’s huge into HP through Amazon. Initially said it would be here on release day. Last week I noticed Amazon changed the deliver date to March 12. Looking online I noticed this was happening a lot to people and a solution was to change delivery method and just reconfirm your same 2-day shipping. I did that the day before yesterday. Won’t get it until the 9th, but it’s a lot better than March 12. I’ll end up complaining to Amazon tho and see what happens with that.

added it to my wishlist. seems like a really fun and well-made open world action/adventure/RPG combo, which is right up my alley. never paid any attention to potter stuff so the fan service is lost on me. also I'm trans so I get a pass to play the game if I want. at least I think that's how that works? IDK maybe I'm just a traitor, either way a big middle finger goes out to anyone who doesn't understand that boycotts are a PERSONAL choice
