There have already been rumors of overheating from PS5 and those vents don't inspire confidence in me. They're not exactly large. That said they're just that rumors but so far there is nothing that screams day 1 enough for me to not be a little apprehensive.

Thermal issues go beyond vents, it's basically the internal components and their behaviour dictated by their i-v (current and voltage) characteristics (quiescent point). I have open rigs and gpus & cpus show maybe ≈1C difference.

In the age of steam and everyone complaining cause epic is the new steam, the idea of an all digital console shouldn't bother me but idk if I'm ready to take that plunge. Also, if backwards compatibility is a thing I'm gonna need a disk drive so I think the choice is probably clear.

You can't even remotely compare the two in their current state. I can play my steam library on any PC, laptop, friends house, my phone, TV's, you name it. I'm not locked to my one room with my one tv. This is why any game that is multiplatform is always better to buy on PC even if it isn't a good port or has some issues (aside from mods and better graphics/res/frame rate/etc/pcmasterrace).
