saric could be good and covington is value so not the worst.

but not taking 4 first rounders? i guess twolves are convinced they wanna try to compete.

imagine being a twolves fan though, you spend all this time with awful season after awful season, luckbox into two #1's and are still screwed

this is pretty much philly needed, also. a sociopathic, competitive leader to teach the young kids, and someone who's also a stellar defender and can carry the offense when embiid needs a bit of help.

So are we officially at the Endgame of the Process?

Trading for Butler is pretty clearly putting them in win-now mode.

    Bring back Hinkie

Considering how Philly didn't have to give up very much, even if they don't win now they have a long window post-Butler with just Simmons and Embiid.

    yeah pretty much.

they're just one major player away from being truly terrifying, imo. wonder if this means they're gonna put jj redick back in as a starter?

they're still constructed p shakey, their shooting woes are actual going to get worse and Cov is p much Butler's equal as a defender. it's a lot of starry talent but I'm not sure how well it fits together when Simmons can't shoot at all, Fultz can't shoot at all, Jimmy is average from deep, and Jojo is at an ice cold 30%. think it's a lot more lateral than people are saying and they're still the 3rd or 4th best team out East.

I'm exponentially more excited for the impending locker room drama then I am the on court product.

Ok well the second one was a poor attempt at a lob to Embiid and doesn't count.

That free throw is just weird as fuck tho and makes it look like he's still not healthy. As he goes thru the motion there's the tiny pause and then his form goes to shit, like he hit a sore spot in his elbow on the way up. As someone on Reddit pointed out when it was posted, it's basically the free throw attempt version of Barkley's golf swing.

league is rightfully star-centered but what's happening to the Bucks and inversely to the Rox shows how important team construction is farther down the rungs.
Lopez played 37 minutes as the starting center last night and shot 6-12.

All 12 shots were from 3.

No Gasol and Gay and no problem for the Spurs. The Rockets are bad for some reason. I can't put my finger on it.

because their idiot gm thought dismantling a top tier defense to go after Anthony would be a good idea

The injuries and suspensions haven't helped either and they're integrating new guys like Ennis who have also been hurt. It's going to take them some time to find their rhythm but I still expect a top 5 seed

I think they will recover in time for the playoffs also

but their expectations should be low

The loss of key defensive pieces isn't Morey's fault. Not much you can do when other teams simply outbid you on players. At this point the team has so much money tied up between Harden, Paul, and Capela that there's only so far their money can go each off-season.

Melo is already looking like a mistake, but they're paying the dude the vet min so it's no big loss if they dump him.

Lots of people seem to be blaming Melo, but he's not the one making Harden go 1 of 13 from deep.

the way i understood it is they specifically opted to go after melo as their priority instead of prioritizing mbah a moute and ariza. mbah a moute came back to the clips on a min. deal and they probably could have had him stay if they paid up more. ariza i get, though as he was looking to get paid more.

but that doesn't excuse them for going after him to begin with. when you sign a guy like carmelo you're giving a roster spot to a black hole who doesn't play defense, and complains when he doesn't start. they should have just tried to pick up more min-contract defensive-minded players. or at least guys who would fit well with harden/paul.

I never heard that was the case (prioritizing Melo). If true that is really dumb

They were worried about Luc's shoulder and of course got outbidded for Ariza

You can quibble with some of the moves but for the most part I agree with the thought process. The Melo move was a gamble
