i think there are a few teams that could go after wall. PG-starved teams that have been stuck in the lotto for a while and think maybe they can make him the centerpiece of the franchise, like orlando. given that his contract is exorbitant, it shouldn't take that much to acquire him.

You're wild if you underestimate NBA owners and GMs. If you're a GM desperate to keep your job, what do you care how bad his contract is in two years? If you're an owner desperate to get butts in the stands, you might go for a flashy player like Wall.

Every sports league is like that. American football is probably the absolute worst in continuing to give awful people jobs, but nepotism/cronyism/etc is just rampant in all sports.

FWIW i don't think there are any teams that should trade for him as PGs are a dime a dozen in this league and that contract is nuts. but imagine you're a team like orlando or phoenix who have a certain incompetence when it comes to finding PG's (or dealing their good ones away lmao). or you're the pacers and you want to turn your backcourt into an elite unit that can do it all. or you think jrue holiday isn't enough to keep anthony davis in town and you feel the need to gamble.

there are takers and their reasons aren't at all invalid.
