big yikes Woj reporting it's done. NY also gets DJ and Wes Matthews on expirings so I guess the plan is to swing in free agency yet again. but yeah trading away the franchise player for the guy drafted one spot after you drafted Frank a year ago. beeg yikes.

with his shooting and rim protection Porzingis complements Luka perfectly, that's a mean 1-2 punch if he can put his injuries behind him.

Kevin Pelton on ESPN always does the trade grades and he likes the deal for the Knocks, given you shed salary and don't have to deal with the risks of KP injury issues and him not re-signing

You exchange that risk for the risk that you don't get anyone to use the cap space on.

It's of course a gamble for both sides but I think it's better for the Knicks than originally meets the eye because of the risk of KP walking in FA

Per Woj, KP doesn't know how he feels about re-signing in Dallas either. So he could walk.

Yeah, I'm starting to feel better seeing that we got 2 picks and all that cap space.

My guess is they saw what NO is dealing with and wanted none of that. It makes sense, but it still kinda stings to see him go.

If we're lucky enough to land Zion, then we'll have a fun team to build around. Free agency will be interesting, but I'm in no rush to just throw money at our problems. It feels nice to have a clean slate but I'm still worried about our front office just blowing cash on bad deals.

Healthy KP it would be depressing. With this knee injury and his susceptibility prior to it, there's a real risk he's never as athletic as he was.

DSJ still has a lot of potential and PGs usually take a few years to develop.

The common expectation is that if the Knicks win the #1 pick they'd use it in a package for AD

So potential combo of KD, Kyrie, and AD in a best Knicks case scenario world

What do the Knicks have to offer for AD besides the pick if they land it?

just some prospects. we are literally DSJ and a bunch of somewhat promising rookies in Trier, Knox, and Mitchell Robinson.

    Oh and the mavs picks

Not irrelevant but the appeal of that offer is that Zion would be the best individual piece available, even above Tatum. But yeah, it all comes down to what kind of return NOLA is prioritizing

I feel like if I had to swing at a single prospect in return for AD, I go for Ben Simmons

It's being reported that Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, and Michael Beasley got into an “emotionally charged verbal exchange” with Luke Walton after the Warriors loss. Apparently it was on the verge of getting physical too.

    Storm's a brewin in LA.

Giannis is the only player in my lifetime putting up a 26/12/5 season.

Only Oscar Robertson and Giannis (assuming he keeps this up) has put up 26/12/5.3 or better.
