When was the last time there was a college prospect as cleanly projected and with as much potential as Zion? I remember riggin for Wiggins but he didn't pan out.

well in KD's year it was the whole oden/KD thing. so i would say that was not at all clean cut, assuming the question really is "when was there this big of a #1 consensus pick?" and of oden went first anyway (though i was amazed portland took oden as i thought KD was can't miss).
if we're talking about consensus #1 then backwards there was simmons, AD, wall, blake, then idr who before that.
wiggins was contending with parker's year.
edit: i put rose in there but beasley was in the conversation for #1 as well that year, now that i think on it.
i also wanna say in kyrie's draft he was consensus #1 but i don't really remember that well.
and i was also wrong about wall, because it was turner/wall that year.
A consensus #1 with this much hyped potential.

Just AD then. Only real weaknesses are shooting (which isn't terrible) and possibly injury risk because he jumps 50" in the air all the time

Oden was crazy hyped, and I don't rememebr anyone at the time having an issue with him going over KD.
Other then AD, the next most obvious crazy hype trains (in recent memory) among NBA prospects would be LeBron and Tim Duncan.
Across all American sports LeBron is way the fuck up there, maybe only matched by Bryce Harper
it was about 50/50 with oden/KD. oden had some durability and fire concerns. they were both fantastic prospects so it was basically like, whoever lost the lotto still won.
Wizards finally got rid of Grunfeld.
how that guy lasted that long i'll never know
Westbrook with the NBA's 2nd 20-20-20 game. 20pts-20r-21a to be exact
pretty unreal when you think about it
Fun stat related to the Wizards firing Grunfeld.
2016: Atlanta signs Dwight Howard; fires GM Wes Wilcox in 2017
2017: Charlotte trades for Howard; fires GM Rich Cho in 2018
2018: Washington signs Howard; fires GM Ernie Grunfeld in 2019
Apparently the secret to get your team's GM canned is just acquiring Dwight.
Also tonight's game leaves Westbrook with 4 assists to go to average a triple double for a 3rd consecutive season.
Something something stat padding something something
He was two rebounds short with a minute left and the thunder up 16. Donovan was sending in the bench mob and Russ refused to come out.
Call me a hater but that's weak shit. Same as the Devin Booker game where they were force feeding him shots in a loss. If it doesn't come in the flow of the game then it means nothing to me. Tell me he has a 21-20-18 game and that's cool, but the other crap just makes me roll my eyes. I've never played basketball that way and always thought less of people that do. If you're counting your points in your head or checking the stat sheet mid-game I don't respect that.

The Thunder are good at boxing out to get rebounds for Russ.
