They (the Dems) are only taking the statewide seats - Governor, AG, etc. The Assembly and Senate are so gerrymandered that despite Dems getting the "popular vote majority" in those chambers, they are still far in the minority in both.

That's why the Republican legislature and lame-duck Republican governor are trying to shift power from the Governor and AG to the legislature before the new Dem Gov+AG take office.

If there's any chance of stopping this, it's in the state senate, where Republicans hold a narrow 18-15 advantage and if two Republicans defect from the plan it won't pass.
