I'm pretty sure 2 of my 3 Heavenly Technician Lids are from Free 10+1 pulls and i haven't even leveled one of them to 6* yet.

They are both solid. They aren't "meta", but who really cares so long as they are functional. The burst damage on Hyoh's chains, for instance, make TGCid's DR chain very pedestrian, but we aren't anywhere close to content that "requires" somebody like an OP Hyoh. Full-stacks Emperor does some serious damage as well, he's just outclassed by other units.

Dragonlord is great for turn 1 finishing, but Emperor 7* tmr passive does make it a lot easier now to cap his finisher out for a setup chain on any prolonged fight.

Ah gotcha. Yeah I used to use emperor a ton when he first came out then chainers became viable then I stopped using him at all.

I loved my Emperor when he first came out... Shame they locked his usefulness behind NEEDING his TMR (its what gives him his Dual-cast for Fire From Below), some would argue not 100% necessary but... it really is. his TMR is great but not enough to waste 100 moogle on and blah blah blah.

I want to use him, I have his 7*, maybe one day.

Likely the best magic rod you have access to with some extra HP on top isn't worth a Moogle? Granted I TMR farmed mine, but I've unlocked 6 of the rods I've gotten just because they're that solid. I'd argue regardless of Emperor's usefulness, having his dual cast locked to his TMR is far more preferred than needing a CD skill to unlock it like some units.

No, Its not. Right now I have plenty of good rods all augmented and the only mage I ever use is Barb/Trance Terra and honestly... don't really NEED that extra ~9 base magic and 10%HP over Glory of Evil. Even less when you consider my Glory of Evil has Magic+% and HP+% from Item world.

I'm not denying its a fantastic rod, just not worth a 100%'er for me. Lazily farming it via macro when I get off my ass and redownload it? Prooobably.
