Yep. I forget how many gifts are displayed on the page at once, but you can only collect gifts from that page. Once you've gone through enough FP gifts that one cryst shows up, then you don't need to gather any more FPs, though at that point you'd likely have gone through dozens of pages of backlogged points.
The Dark Fina JP deal seems a bit overblown at the moment. There's a lot of assumptions being thrown out. When I first read about it, I was a little annoyed that a main character would be limited. Most though were focused on the name of the event, "summoning fest." I haven't played a ton of gacha games, but apparently a summoning festival is a pretty common practice in them. It pops up anywhere from monthly to quarterly, reduces the summoning pool, increases rates, and adds unique SS tier units that are only available during it. The JP one is doing all of the above (5* units in the pool are cut nearly into 2/3, from 120 to 81, only some meta or unique/specialized pre 7* units are included, like Ayaka, Wilhelm, Marie, etc, most damage dealers are cut), although it's still to be seen how good CG Dark Fina is. Her TMR and STMR aren't exactly broken, but that could be due to the unit being stupidly strong.
I didn't think anything of it because they call all sorts of things festivals and such. I thought it was just a name. But if they really do add an event such as that and add unique top end units to them that aren't available outside of it, I could see all sorts of backlash.
The data mine is in and she's... pretty damn strong.
She's looking to be the strongest of the Chaos Wave chainers by a fair margin, though that's pretty much all JP mages have going for them. She comes with plentiful ways to get quad cast up via LB with plenty of LB support built in or a CD, baseline triple cast, imperils for -120% for her three elements (fire, dark, and earth) and her hardest hitting elemental Chaos Wave frame attacks stack up to a max of 2400%. Accounting for imperils and quad cast, that'd put her at 20,680% mods after 3 turns, taking into account using her 50% mod boost move, though she'd need to refresh quad cast every other turn. She also comes with an elementless Chaos Wave chainer that caps out at 2850% and an elementless finisher for 3500%, all of em quad castable. She also has +100% TDW/TDH magic and +200% baseline magic.
Rotation wise, it looks like triple cast may be her bread and butter until burst turns. Her LB is kinda weak at only 3400% with a two turn quad unlock, though it has some extra goodies like -100% imperils and removing magic debuffs against herself. There's a lot to unpack for her though so I might be missing some synergy with her other abilities.
Welp, so much for not being worried lol. The backlash will be entertaining at least.
The huge difference between FFBE and the other games is that here you must pull 2 copies of each unit in order to use them otherwise they're just TMRs.
Personally I'm tired of limited units in GL, we've had way too many in these past few months and it's basically making the game a real slog. Add to this the removal of prisms and now JP adding more limited units and it's not looking great at all.
The reason about the jp backlash isn't that it's a summoning fest which like you say isn't too uncommon in fact some basically do it every month but that those other gachas have greatly increased rates of their top rarity summoning than even our enhanced rates and like Alkar says we need doubles that makes it much more bearable and in some even kind of looked forward to... while in Global ffbe it's always like uggg another limited time banner already since god we've had so many recently often with nerfed banners
I considered their boosts to be good enough to call "greatly increased." It's a 6 step step-up with the first 10+1 being free with 5% rainbow rates and 50% CG Fina rates. 66% rainbow increase is pretty solid and likely about where the game needs to be over there with their bloated pool. Believe it was calculated out to be an 82%+ chance of getting her 7* thru the step up. No one knew the rates on the +1 pull so it could be higher. Considering we pull with far less odds, that seems pretty solid. Of course, there's going to be stories of those who did all the steps and came out with only one copy, but there will be far more who come out with 2+.
Not defending the practice, but that's not what the backlash is from. Complaints are stemming mostly from a story unit being limited and the unit being very powerful and unavailable to use UoCs on. They're looking at it as a UoC nerf, which it is really. I'm not surprised, UoC hoarding is pretty broken from a business point of view. Even GLs two week delay won't really hamper things. They need to add something else to it to incentivize pulling instead of creating strong units that they can't be used on. Put a monthly lockout on a unit you selected or something.
I mean it's really a combination of things all put together. Because it all boils down to actually getting the unit and with multiple factors involved it's going to be all their fault. If one was better the other might not might and vice versa. And you can believe some of the very first reddit posts when it came up were comparing our rates with other gacha that do summon fest that still beat the increases from this
Is it just me or does this event fucking suck? There's no tickets or anything and a these trust moogles for units that i can't pull cause they aren't giving us anything ti pull then with.
It does suck. Gumi trying to get us to blow our stash ( if we had any left) for these units. Sucks cause I'd really like a Yan because shes a good unit and I got a bunch of off banner yellows. Not a fan of this event cause the bonus mobs are too far in between and the max number of coins I can get per run no bonus is like 2500ish barely. And that's borrowing Ang friends for legend. Otherwise I'm stuck farming elite and that sucks too.
Yan really hasn't aged well honestly.
She might be pretty decent slot in for when we get 4 star missions and such(Whenever those happen)
Event is decent if you got a bit of bonus units. Can basically get decently more coins than a raid would even without the bonus units and good rank xp so can get quite a bit of resources... but yeah if you didn't not so good. Probably were banking on people pulling since who doesn't like doggos and Ang was THE finisher for several months last year
Counterpoint: This is the best event in months because it is raid coins with bonus units and we can spend NRG pots to refresh (not lapis). I've farmed about 50mil gil spamming pots.
I'm not even using pots just using my daily nrg and making out pretty good. Also nice since I kept a bunch of extra 3/4* I got from the step ups too and finishing them off since their trusts drop frequently and cashing them in for trust coins. Don't think I'll have a gil issue anymore taking every thing I can to 7* even if I plan on just fusing them to another for STMR... though I am starting to run into issues with the 6* awakening materials... actually had to buy some of the 540 currency ones from the MK
Anyways Big Bara Daddy is here. Sadly forgot his big AoE buff was post enchantments so less excited now but can't wait to see his story
Used 2 normal tickets today and got the bard dude from CNY and Aranea #3. I'm sitting on 3 copies of soooo many units.
Guess I just shot my luck on the Ignacio 11k, but it's pretty lackluster anyways.
I've pulled three rainbows since November, and two of those pulls were on guaranteed 5* tickets lol. about time to put this game down for a bit
Now at 100k lapis... haven’t used any tickets except for regular summon ones, still waiting on xenogears... lol
Edit: i really am liking Ignacio as a character so far. Just started his story.
Did the 11k. Got Aranea#7 and Ace#14. Fml. Guaranteed 5* was Jecht#5. Ugh.
3 4* tickets got me an Ignacio. 5 4* tickets got me a Suzume. Think I’m done with this banner
