    Should my husband have played RDR1 before RDR2?

    Thinking of getting him the second one for Xmas since the reviews are so good, but he never played the first.

    Don't need it. On chapter 3 and the story holds up as its own thing.

    I played RDR1. Didn't finish but I got far enough I got to their version of Mexico at some point.

    I do plan on playing RDR1 after this though.
