Wanna be clear though, that's just me looking for minor imperfect details in what is otherwise the best live action series they've done to date, and if I'm allowed to rank those with the movies, it's also in top 5 imo. It's up there with things like Winter Soldier and End Game, which is both wild and unfair cause End Game and to a lesser extent WS both relied on previous movies to set them up for success while Loki touched on those other properties for half an episode before carrying itself with no help from the rest of the live action universe.

I mean, he's a variant. Sylvie uses Enchantment magic which we've never seen a Loki do. This Loki variant knows fancy reversal magic, end of story.

It's the same base loki. They're the same person with the same abilities. Loki in the show was just plucked from 2012 after the attack on New York. No where in Loki did he do any training or anything like that so we're to assume he always had that ability.

I mean random asspull powerups is pretty par for the course for comic books, but it's still kind of weak writing if the reader/viewer has to just handwave it away as timey wimey bullshit or just a previously unknown skill. Doesn't ruin the show or anything, but writing always feels more rewarding when it builds on what came before rather than just materializing things from midair.

All the more reason he should be lamer than OG Loki, who has had more time and character development but alas it's pedantic and not worth arguing. Supes always get power ups, but his in particular just felt unearned imo
