More music you'll all hate.
I had a solid 45 minutes of early 00s emo come up on my spotify on shuffle this morning. Basically all just the first two albums by Brand New and Taking Back Sunday. As I'm sure none of you want to listen to that, here's something equally old by Modest Mouse.
MM is gonna be with Black Keys here in November, I've heard they are either really good or really bad live. Not sure I care enough about Black Keys to pay for tickets either but I might go
I've never seen MM, but I want to. My wife saw them at Firefly, I think it was, and said they were great. I have also heard the same thing about them, though.
They were touring with Brand New a year or two ago I think? Maybe longer? Wanted to get tickets for that, but they were sold out in my area and too pricey on secondary sites.
saw them like 12 years ago was p ppp pppppppp good. don't like most of their newer releases tho so mmmm
They have some good songs here and there, but I think the last time I liked a whole album was Good News. World at Large, Ocean Breathes Salty, Bukowski, The View, Black Cadillacs... Bury Me With It was a banger, Good Times are Killing Me was a great outro song.
We Were Dead had a couple songs I liked. Parting of the Sensory, Steam Engenius, Spitting Venom.
The new new stuff I've only heard a couple songs. The Ground Walks With Time in a Box was decent. Their new single, Poison the Well, is just alright.
you're one of the good ones Toki
i've kinda grown out of a lot of indie rock but the first four MM albums are all genre bangers. Bury Me With It is one of my favorites too. Cowboy Dan forever #1
I'm not sure what I would name as my #1. I feel like it can change depending on my mood. I could listen to Moon & Antarctica and Lonesome Crowded West on repeat for eternity I think.
if you're not all grown out of indie rock just yet, have some Middle Kids. CPR is sure pushing the Aussies these days
There's been a number of Aussie and NZ artist coming up. Courtney Barnett, Middle Kids, Aldous Harding, Tame Impala, The Beths... maybe a couple more I'm not thinking of.
Wife got us tickets to see Avatar when they come to the Warfield in October, so I get to scratch one of my top bands I've been dying to see live off my list. October can't come soon enough.
@ 13:00 for a SICK version of Hide and Seek, 9:17 for explanation of the gloves/software
been watching her develop these gloves for a while, they have come a long way from the last time I saw a demo
