Well, if you bought SB, you'd be set. Heavensward is free atm.
^
Pre order SB for the Aetheryte earring. Do the free 7 day log in. Have a friend reinvite you for an additional 7 days. And play until you have to maintain a sub again. Unless you play strictly FFXIV for the next 4 days you shouldn't get past heavensward too fast.
Sitting through the forever download now. x.x
So, healers...
As a healer main who expected to more or less still be a healer main in ShB, it's looking a little less likely. I think WHM looks fine and SCH is more my tune now that the pet stuff is easier to deal with, but AST. Oh AST. What did they do to you?
I'm going to have to play it before I consider it completely dead to me, but it does not look good. AST did not need more ways to heal, nor did it need to "get rid of unwanted cards". We were already given the tools to deal with that in the last update to the job.
This sucks, because most of my great glams are AST ones.
Oh well, I guess this is more incentive to switch to DNC.
lol nobody wants to heal in my static now lmaooooo
btw be a healer for my static we're kinda good I guess. https://www.bluegartr.com/threads/13...52#post7208252
Additional trust gameplay.
The solution here is to balance tanks around all content, not just raids, which is what's been done so far. No raider cares about synced content though, so tanks are not balanced around this. That's why they are boring as hell to play coming up, and/or have piss poor mitigation, with the nifty "would be nice to have at lvl 60-64" skills gated at 70/80. I totally like being synced down <66 on DRK so that bloodprice sucks again(no blackblood generation) /sarcasm, oh and no access to Blackest Night, becaused capped skill.
That applies to healers as well tbh, except there's no DPS rotation at all. Any type of content that isn't Savage is not designed to require all these healing spells and abilities and the same will apply to Shadowbringers.
I don't understand why healers can't have some additional DPS abilities to use in dungeons, normal primals, 24 man raids and the rest of the easy content (which is like 90% of it). If you design high end content to require those healing kits then healers will heal and fit DPS if/when they can. Taking tools away will not force them to heal more, it'll just make these jobs extremely boring to play when healing is not required.
The problem has never been the healer kit, the issue is that they never designed fights (including Savage) to require all these healing abilities in the first place. If ShB does that great but these changes don't apply to Savage only unfortunatly.
My static is 7/8 and our two healers are bailing off the job. One of them jumped on Dancer and now the other wants to swap to SAM.
Very fun times.
DNC looks hella fun, but this iteration of SMN is most enticing to me. gonna ride the SCH queue times to 80
Not gonna lie, I'd rather spam 1 than have to perform Beethoven for 15m. Worse if there's a late-% wipe and you gotta start all over. If the game were slower paced, I may be more inclined to greater complexity, but a lot can go to shit merely by adding fight mechanics. If that makes me a bad person, so be it.
Anyway, is dungeon spam still the best way to level? Left off with BLM, so I could work on HW story some there, but just feeling more like getting others to 30 for job unlocks.
There's weekly challenge log to help and roulettes, but at low level I guess palace of the dead would be fastest
Checked out zone videos from the tour. Interesting bgm and battle music, some will take getting used to, but right now Lakeland has really stole my heart
Everyone complaining about healer dps and I just keep hoping they fix macro delay because I always prefer healing with mouseover macros.![]()
I would main heal the fuck out of this game if I could reliably use mouse over heals..
Read an interview with Yoshi where he went a little more into trust AI personalities and stuff. The way they went about it sounds cool, but I guess will still lead into situations where some trusts are better than other. E.g. if you're a dps, Yshtola will never use LB because she considers you the main hero and let's you do it. Alisae on the other hand sees more equal to you and will use LB immediately as her way to help. Trusts also know how much dps is needed to clear the fight so if anything happens they will try to make up for it, Yshtola will stop casting to avoid aoe, but if she has to avoid it twice she will use triple cast to catch up. Alisae always rushes in to the fight, so she might get hit by aoe more often.
Sounds like their battle style will match their personalities, which is cool. I hope they expand the system eventually to include other NPCs we've met. It would be awesome to be able to play with our job quest teachers for example. I did enjoy trusts as a way of playing with story characters we know and love in XI. I hope they don't completely replace dungeon parties though.
I'm afraid the we won't be seeing that many trust options. They are tied to msq dungeons only and will include characters that are there with you in the story from what they said.
Begs the question, why bother wasting time and development resources making trusts if they'll only be usable in a couple of dungeons
