Thought the theory that the WoL couldn't be tempered because they were already tempered by Hydaelyn was kind of interesting, but that plot thread kinda got dropped after ARR, maybe ShB will pick it back up.

All I want out of this expansion is a good story and the trailer looks like it'll deliver. HW was awesome, SB was alright

SB really suffered from having to tackle both Doma and Ala Mihgo. I'm hoping with the majority of the story being focused on the First the same mistake won't be repeated.

Also I guarantee you Solus is being a god tier troll and is twisting the truth for his own ends there has to be more to Zodiark and Hydalen than just being an ancient primal.

I mean, most of the beastmen see their primals as gods/saviors. I'm not certain why cumulative prayer wouldn't create something like Hydaelyn/Zodiark. I mean what delineates a god from an Eikon/Primal?

The likely thing is that the primal's that we know of are like cheap knock off copies of the ORIGINALS (Hydaelyn/Zodiak) who are defective by design to drain the land around them of aether aka Hydaelyn's aether. The current belief is tempering = loss of free will or a thrall of a primal BUT the likely truth could be something different entirely when considering the like's of Hydaelyn and Zodiark. The reveal coming from Solus/Emet Selch is very likely a misdirect: remember this guy is written to be someone who loves drama and the arts and likely love's to play his opponents off with subterfuge and misinformation, he literally refused to name a sucessor as the Garlean Emperor for essentially shits and giggles to cause a civil war and let people wipe eatch other so coming from him its lilkely his intent to stir the pot.

Yeah, you can see that in the trailer itself (there's a poster related to Eden and you see Eden's symbol from FFVIII in another shot).
Hopefully the new BLU mechanics are substantial. They also need a way to get older spells more easily, I missed out on the train from some of the primals and now it's pretty much impossible to get people lol.

as someone who capped a while ago, spell acquisition definitely needs a nerf across the board. BLU itself is a timesink. there's no need for such a steep additional one.

that said I don't really expect any substantial gameplay changes. increased level cap, maybe 10 or so more spells. everything else the same

I don't envy their task of making new spells/content for BLU.

- Do they keep the lv50-cap on the old Masked Carnivale levels, because that's what it was tuned to?
- If so, do they let you use the new spells in the old content?
- Do they add more than 20 spell slots? I do not enjoy changing my spells.
- What other spells could they add that aren't already covered? Just spells that hit harder than 130 potency? More spells to broaden the lesser-used/harder-obtained elements? Yawn.
