Well, we'd just be console plebs at that point.
That said! If it's real, I'm going to work on a mod to uncap it again.

At 4k and max settings I barely hit 60fps![]()
Depends if they've hard capped it in the game itself, it's possible nvcp can get around it but I'm thinking it won't work. We'll see soon enough.
Rivatuner Statistics Server may be able to get it above 90fps. It was previously able to override the in game settings.
Where the fuck is this downloooaaaadddd
Patch is up for download (PC).
Edit: Only 3gb? Seems small.
Probably gonna be a second one. This isn't the ex3 patch
The dl is showing me 7.5gb(pc)
Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
My download crashed after about 1gb, upon restart now is the 7.5 Weird.
Same. I'm worried SE is moving backwards again... a lot of people are white knighting this change in reddit ("you don't know why they did it, their code base is really bad, be an adult and stop crying about fps") and all I can think is that the white knights have never experienced high fps before.
Going from 144 to 120 is painful to see, going down to 90 you might as well complete the cycle and go to 60. I'm glad all my investments into my PC are moot and wasted on this game. At least WoW classic will be out soon.
Y’all are so dramatic
If I never used a high refresh monitor I'd probably say the same, but stepping down in refresh rates is jarring. Like looking at someone who doesn't use any form of a blue light filter on their monitors and hearing them complain about their rapidly deteriating vision.
Even if the difference is as prominent as you claim, you’ll rapidly readjust
Ain’t the human brain just something else
I can barely tell the difference between the two, but I need at least 110 before that silky-smooth look happens. 90 ain't quite there, but it's not a problem for my setup because XIV isn't optimized and needs a beefy CPU to even hit 100+. Just been capping that shit at 60hz for awhile now via nVidia Inspector due to XIV's fucked up built-in solution for FPS capping.
I had breathing room, I was fantasizing about 240hz and now it's all come CRASHING DOWN AHHHHHHH

And reddit to the rescue

Remove's cap and restores FPS master race settings.
lol well that didn't take long
XIV is pretty easy on the RE though.
So the game just runs a sleep function if the frame is drawn too fast?... Cue butwhy.gif
I wonder what's the reasoning behind that. Glad it's just that and is easy to circumvent, I just bought a 165Hz screen last month and almost exclusively play FFXIV D:
