I unlocked chaos axe guy today. Not quite sure where he’ll fit on my team and he’s not even 4/5 on the awakening board yet and barely functional otherwise... but I’ll probably dump my dark runes into him for the time being and build him up.

I’m guessing he’s just a beefy attacker with defense break utility? Cause if so he’ll only ever replace my Cidd on VsFire fights.

So I have been looking at this game as a side game to play alongside FGO. As the thread has been moving along on BG, what are the overall thoughts for those who have also played FGO? Worth picking up or is the game crazy grinding to put FGO at shame?

If you aren't interested in getting invested into some very heavy Korean grinding then this game definitely isn't gonna be fun for you. I find it to be very grindy and I usually don't have a problem with grinding in games like this.

It's super grindy but the game gives you small breadcrumbs to keep you enticed. Giving you small rewards for everything you do. If you do decide to get started, find a reroll guide and aim for a top healer with a decent dps. Healers are hard to come by and basically required for harder events.

I just found a lifesteal Helm for sale at the goblin merchant for 720 million. What the fuck? Is there a gimmick or quest to reduce his prices?

That one goblin merchant guy only sells his shit for super high prices. He's basically just there to rip you off.

I generally want to say the game is more engaging than FGO from the gameplay perspective, but in terms of storytelling, it's pretty mediocre.

On the surface, it avoids FGO's grail problem by any character being 6*-able with enough fodder farming. However, whether or not a given character is actually worth investing in is another matter and the devs haven't been shy on swinging the nerf bat a tad too hard. Fortunately, they do have a recall option for such instances so you can get spent materials back. The molagora (skill upgrade mat) shortage is probably the biggest hurdle to party diversity at the moment, with gold costs/gain being runner up, followed by the energy efficiency of various activities like hunts for gear farming.

Conceptually, I'd probably call it a turn-based Diablo-lite in its current iteration, and is certainly a game in its infancy that does have the potential to grow if, and only if, devs actually listen to feedback and respond appropriately. Frankly, I feel the FGO event grinds have been steadily worsening and the lack of any form of auto system makes the respective grind that much more of a chore. And while the auto AI here isn't perfect, it is pretty decent compared to some other games I've played that only pick one ability to use ever or just normal attack.

That said, it still has some of your typical gacha trappings like poor pull rates on 5* units or crappy drop rates on catalysts. I'm actually of the mind they could literally eliminate the energy system and game play more or less wouldn't change at all as some key activities are daily gated, but you still get the herpderps on reddit that would chicken little over such a notion. Otherwise being on a bit of mobile game burnout, this is the one I've been focusing on while BE and FGO have pretty much just been daily log-in status. I'd say give it a shot and see how the eventual 30 10-pull treats ya.

He is one of the most OP units in the game imo. When I was clearing Abyss I built him ~15k HP / ~1100 DEF / ~2800 ATK / ~155 SPD and let him tank floors 60 - 80 for me easily. Once I cleared it I switched him to the T6 LS set and now run him with ~11.5k HP / ~3600 ATK / 50% effectiveness and just use him as a reliable debuffer that hits for 15k on his S3 with ATK+/DEF- on. There are plenty of other builds for him too. He's super utilitarian.

My Moonlight pulls are getting worse. C Dominel, Crimson Armin, Lorina, and now Hurado in that order. After seeing hurado I foolishly pulled on the Bellona banner and didn't get jack shit there either.

Was able to 6* my Diene last night with the added bonus that I had a second Diene so I get the 3.6% Atk bonus from her Devotion skill. With Sez and Diene at 6* I figure my next should be C. Armin over Lorina? I'm very close to C. Lorina, but feel like C. Armin may be the better hero to 6* first since I already have a 6* DPS.

Bit of a win/fail. Trying to get some gear upgrades, so I made two golem helmets last night hoping for a good DEF set with DEF%. Got two Epics in a row. One was a Health set and the other was a DEF set, but doesn't have DEF%.

I'm stuck in Bronze V because some OP team is blocking me - I can't wait to get my C. Coli fully leveled and geared so I can roll through. My Arena team is pretty shite (made it to Bronze I last week pretty easily but hit a wall). I have my 5* Carmainerose I'm planning to 6* with 2 Carmaineroses as fodder and devotion skills (should get S for the def boost), but I think I'm going to focus on getting my C. Coli to 6* then jump back on her.

I find Arena is just a game of refreshing until you find a team you can beat. I got to Master last week, but haven't touched it much since.

There's a reset button on the top right of the challenger screen that lets you get 5 new opponents.'

edit: It's got a recycling arrowish symbol on it and says "free". It's just left of the Opponents button(At least on my Pixel, I assume other phones resolutions will land it in ~the same spot).

You can refresh your opponent list for free like every 6 minutes. Just above and to the right of the first opponent
