Yeah having extra lives is pretty key. You should make sure you have at least 200 gold after each boss to buy another death defiance at the shop fountain if it's being offered. Also I think it's either Athena or Aphrodite that has some boons that will replenish death defiance.

I think the extra lives are more beneficial than the one death per chamber since you gotta figure most deaths probably come from bosses, especially the last one. Having at least one or two extra lives for the final boss is pretty huge.

finished my last 2 weapon clears for rail and bow, and got my 10th clear today as well. really dislike rail but if you get the 300% friendly fire special from the hammer it really trivializes the run. it was my slowest run by far at ~35m, but i didn't use a single death defiance charge. stack up a bunch of special damage+ on top of the weapon mod and everything just explodes.

favorite weapon is definitely fists, maxed out demeter aspect is absolutely nuts. rooms of every stripe melt instantly, bosses too.

I started this the other day and got through Elysium once.

Which trinket do you guys normally use for each chamber? I capped out the Skelly one because I got it first and didn't think about changing them for a while.

first two areas i use the chaos egg (better boons and no hp loss, so this can make a huge impact on a run if you get a couple gates in the starting half), elysium i'll swap to something else depending on my build, and then for styx i use the death defiance charge just for the extra insurance, though i'm comfortable enough now that i can probably swap this to something more useful.

The one per chamber is useful while you're still leveling up but once you've got enough darkness to cap the other it's the way better choice, if for no other reason them to walk into the final boss with multiple extra lives instead of just the one.

I only used the "one per chamber" one to get the prophecy done. 3x lives is far superior for completing successful runs.

yup. bulk of my DD charges are spent on hades, very rare that i end up using a charge prior to that on most runs now. plenty of wins would've been wipes if i only had one charge for the last fight.

I'm at 9 clears, what should I try to do before clearing it a 10th time? I kind of purposely screwed up my last run just to make sure I didn't miss anything even though I had an awesome Malphon build with chill on attack and bonus Artemis arrows with every hit. I'm trying to collect diamonds for Sisyphus's quest right now.

You're not really gonna miss anything once you get 10 clears.

All the various side plots will keep moving at their pace, though I'd imagine there's some dialogue changes.

Yeha don't hold off on any clears. Game is designed so that you don't need to slow down at any time. And very randomized too

I finally got the Nyx/Chaos quest after like 27 clears

Well I'm now at over 15 clears and I gotta say I'm not getting tired of this game. I think I'm gonna go for all the achievements.

No. Didn't know he had one. Still locked on his hearts chart atm so I guess I gotta keep going

I just got it, after my 18th clear.

Just need to max that one and the other post-game one to get the achievement. Can't seem to get Patroclus to give me the dialogue I need to start his quest though, I have both he and Achilles up to the lock in hearts and I got the dialogue to speak with him but Zagreus won't start the conversation.
