hardline religious zealots, whether they be muslim, jews, christian, indian (whatever flavor), or any brand of asian are all pretty awful and when people equivocate between who is worse it really comes down to one major point imo that most people are missing

everyone of the above has, at one point or another, been equally awful as everyone else

things get better as the countries / regions pull themselves out the dark ages and start establishing secular or semi-secular governments and human rights legislation. There's a curve that we're all on that goes from cavemen to first world westerner. Right now the ME sand zealots are worse than christian extremists simply because there's far more of them and many of them are supported by regional leaders still

there's a lot of danger in taking our boot off the necks of some of our less-than-respectable foreign endeavors all at once, but idk i find it hard to be shocked when people who are being walked all over get mad and decide to try to kill us over it. im never shocked when they decide to kill each other, that's a by-product of being locked in institutional poverty, ignorance, and zealotry.
