Not in Cali, but there's a fair amount of enmity between non-white activists and white women activists around here. Non-white activists often feel like white women hijack their initiatives and end up reaping the lion's share of the payoff because people suddenly care when pretty white women are involved. Affirmative action has been a huge sore spot for them.

#MeToo was started by black women years ago then got big because of white women but the problems the original organizers were gathering together for weren't addressed nor was their fame and fortune used to elevate these issues to the national spotlight.

When people finally start to notice their movement, white women get involved and its popularity explodes. That would be great, except the general public is only really interested in solving the problems of the Johnny-come-lately white women.

People tried not to give a shit because the hope was elevating white women would elevate blacks and black women along with them. Historically, this just hasn't happened. Instead, the public shoots its wad addressing the problems of white women, pats themselves on the back, and calls it a day. Black activists are often worse off after white women get involved in their movements because they drain the accumulated public will.

Telling white women to fuck off is probably a more cost-effective strategy in the long run. I'm just surprised someone actually did it.
