Are white women not women? Isnt it a womans march? I would understand if it was a minority march or whatever.
Plus isnt Sarsour and co leaders of this thing, are white women really threatening minorities or setting the "standards of what is fought for"?
Just ignorant to me to cancel because people of a certain color come to join your stupid protest. Can you imagine a conservative protest being cancelled bc too many browns were coming lmao
I think it's silly to cancel, I'm not arguing that, however just explaining the divide going on in the movement.
And, it should definitely be noted, I'm speaking as a white woman so just going off on what I read and what makes sense in my mind.
I think the nutshell problem is: White women are fighting to be equal to white men.
Poc women are fighting for poc to be equal to white people.
In a white woman's mind, the person unjustly ahead is the white man.
In a poc woman's mind, the person unjustly ahead is the white man AND woman.
Like white woman often don't recognize that they are ALSO unjustly ahead of another group of people (poc women).
Well sounds like someone needs to make a PoC march so white women know they arent welcome off the jump
The left just endlessly eats itself and splinters trying to play victim olympics i just cant fuck w it
Come show me your superior intellect, because my electronics are stressing me out. I just wanna play Spyro from my bed, am I asking for too much?
And it's like anything, if you want more of a demographic in your group, you have to cater a little to them, which doesn't really happen.
If you hold a women's march and only one very specific demographic of women is showing up then it's not a very good women's march. The majority of humans fall into the "woman" category.
This is interesting and the causes for this can be rather insidious. Typically we think that if an issue affects people differently based on their race it's a racial issue, and if an issue affects people differently based on their sex it's a sex issue. But consider the following: Some issue affects black men and black women differently. On its face, this makes it a sex issue. Now imagine that same issue affects black women and white women differently. Suddenly, it's a racial issue, even though outside of the white community it's clearly a sex issue.
What you're left with is this idea that only issues which affect white women are "real" sex issues. Any issue which disproportionately harms non-white women can be framed as a race issue and ignored by white feminists.
eg, "You're not being sexually assaulted by police because you're a woman. You're being sexually assaulted by police because you're black. You can bring that up in your black people protests but we're focusing on abortion here because that affects *all* women."
Lotta words to justify judging a whole group of peoples intentions based solely on skin color.
Which goes back to what I said before: isnt that the whole point of a march?
