real talk...please enlighten me as to why I should sympathize with an anti-vaxxer who passed away succumbing to meningitis and H1N1 flu, both illnesses that have vaccines. She wasnt hit by a bus, she didnt contract cancer or, she wasnt killed by a delusional "tolerant liberal", etc etc. And its not like she wasnt vaccinated because its so expensive, that "literally no" tweet about affordable health care being a basic human right was sent out Dec 7, 3 weeks ago. That isnt a case of a "stupid immature youth" saying stupid things.

So once again, why should I be sympathetic to her passing?

Dying at 26 is a fucking tragedy regardless of how it happens. Yeah, there's tons of shit as bad or worse happening all over the globe right now and most folks don't have the time or the energy to mourn for all of them. But just because you aren't mourning doesn't mean anyone needs to nosedive right into being a cunt about it. Note: It was Fiye I was telling to have some fuckin' class.

Not my fault you cant view people as individuals anymore, all that racism makes skin color the first thing you see. Sad really, youd think being a double minority would help with all that.

Not sure if you care about the difference, but most folks will still treat individuals as individuals. Societal trends may be carried out by individuals but when you zoom out far enough a lot of nuance gets lost. It's not because I think people are simple. It's because the nuance of their beliefs often don't actually affect anything in the large scale.

Being color blind is about the coolest white privilege there is on the internet, if only because it affords such a sense of earned superiority. Brown people don't get to be color blind because their own color impacts everything they do.
