I think star wars fanatics exist more cuz of nostalgia. I grew up in a home where the tv was always on univision or old 80s cartoons. Never cared for the franchise and never saw one until late in my teenage years i think. so i think i got a pretty objective point of view when I say they're all pretty mediocre.

Firefly was a better scifi franchise with 14 episodes and a movie versus a billion star wars dollars.

SW is good if you can just enjoy the movie for enjoying a movie. I am definitely a "Star Wars fan that isn't stupid about it."

Hell, I love the Ewok movies (also nostalgia factor as I saw them first), and if you love SW and don't like the Ewok movies then I'm going to assume you take SW too damn seriously.

I never saw that thread, but he's right. It's better than it has any right to be and is ridiculously meta. Better than all 7/8 previous movies.
