He spoke for under 10min and just repeated the same things Neilson and Sanders have been saying since the weekend. Nothing new, no national emergency declared. It was a nothing burger that interrupted prime time TV. Youd think hed take a hard jab at someone, he didnt, or declare some norm breaking thing, but didnt. It was just...crap.

Its telling when they say 4k terrorists have been stopped at the border, and when fact checked they admit less than 10 have been apprehended at the border and those people were only on the watch list, not actually bona fide terrorists even. After two days of news cycles on their lies, they're now pivoting to "one terrorist is too many, spend any and all money on a wall" which I admit is a better message than their previous lies but why didnt they just go with that first?

I feel like any other Republican could have politiced his way to some kind of border funding, but trump is just so bad at deal making that he shot off his own foot.

He explained it though. We have walls and fences, in places that make sense. Expanding on that makes sense. What doesnt make sense is what Trump is doing, seeking almost 6 billion for more wall and fence construction, especially in places where that construction doesnt make sense. It also doesnt help that the only reason he seems to be so set on building expensive walls in areas that are terrible to build expensive walls is cause hes trying to placate a very racist idea that brown people are bad. The numbers at the border just dont justify his actions.
