Resources are finite. If its a matter of priority...
Shut up Thanos.
It's one thing to prioritize things in order. It's entirely different to start with claims of "why do so and so deserve anything"
Just gonna leave this here

Medical treatment in prison should be required when medically necessary. Reassignment surgery is rarely medically necessary for dysphoria. Less invasive treatments are first-line.
What I'm saying is that we aren't doing shoulder surgery for someone with shoulder pain just because they are requesting to have shoulder surgery. There's other shit we can try first. -Harris 2020
Sooo system was working eh??
but to reiterate she is far better than the garbage currently infesting the administration and her record is pretty good otherwise.
If i were still in my ass woulda been gone.
Ok, so? You act like she had some kind of blanket view that prisoners shouldn't be afforded gender reassignment surgery, and that's not the case. California regs prohibit treatment that's not medically necessary. Gender reassignment is rarely medically necessary. She represented the state in a case in which the state had a good argument. They ultimately lost, but you act as if it was just outlandish. She brought a reasonable case.
I would vote for Harris.
Of everyone's who's announced, Harris is my front runner. Sorry Fiye, shoulders come before gender reassignment.

Here's my calculus;
Is gender reassignment surgery being a covered medical expense more or less likely to stem from the path society will follow with
A) Kamala Harris
or
B) Donald Trump.
Reassignment surgery is elective.
Period.
