CTD'19: Someone that was involved in that thing that you know about, or maybe not, may have died or possibly come close to it, or perhaps was in some sort of accident but is just fine
Dale Sr wasn't in a "nasty," accident when he died. It was very mild compared to most, but he broke his neck due to lack of head restraints. The fact he died so easily in such a small and routine wreck is what gave birth to HANS.
Tragic as it was, countless lives have been saved because of it from indy car to GT to drift.
Sr was a legend because he was the definition of give no fucks. He was fearless.
I was born in and spent a large chunk of my life in NC, so NASCAR was a huge part of my childhood. He was the first celebrity I felt legitimately sad about when he died. He's also one of the main reasons I got into cars and street racing.

I wasn't that big of a fan of Peter Fonda. He was not in that many movies really.
yeah, you kind of have to be from the south to get the earnhardt thing. the dude was redneck royalty. nascar is a big deal back home.
i'm not a fan, but then i've been accused of being allergic to fun so it's not exactly out of character.

Billionaire David Koch, 79, secret owner of everything
"David liked to say that a combination of brilliant doctors, state-of-the-art medications and his own stubbornness kept the cancer at bay," the brother's statement said. "We can all be grateful that it did, because he was able to touch so many more lives as a result."
Yea... dude touched a lot of lives......
Don't worry the Koch suicide pact will kick in within the next hundred years.
Edit: This is spam material my bad
Combination of brilliant doctors and medications that the citizens of his home state can't afford. What a guy.
And nothing of value was lost.
All his kids are younger than 25

Details on crash not released yet, but if it was during a record attempt I expect the details to be unpleasant.
