There are a lot of old Democrats that are very much not pro-LGBT. I wouldn't go as far as to say they're anti-gay, but they're definitely not supportive. This country is at least another generation away from that kind of accomplishment.

Pretty much every establishment Democrat was anti gay marriage until around 10 years ago.
