Do we know if the Netflix series is considered canon in the MCU or are they just reusing actors? I never watched season 3, so I'm not sure where the characters all stand by the end of it.

And I'm glad to see more Yelena. She was pretty much the only good thing about Black Widow movie.

I don't think any of the Netflix stuff is considered canon. I looked up several sources trying to find a definitive, but it is more or less the Netflix/ABC stuff was just to satisfy different executives in different branches is what I can gather from it, like when Feige and Perlmutter were infighting about everything then Bob Iger was like "no fuck you" to Perlmutter and gave control of everything to Feige. James Gunn also had a series of back and forth tweets saying anything Pre WandaVision (show wise) is not considered canon. So I think they're the same characters. Could just write it off as a multiverse scenario, really.

That all being said, I really enjoyed this episode. I'm SUPER happy Vincent D'Onofrio is back as Kingpin. Of all the Netflix shit, I really enjoyed Daredevil.(most of it anyhow) and Kingpin/Daredevil were fantastic. I'm glad Yelena wasn't just in and out of the series, she's a big part of it. Hell, she had more screen time this episode than Echo has had the entire series. And she's supposed to be the "villain". Like I know Echo's series is going to flesh her out more, but right now she's basically a red shirt with a revenge story.

Florence Pugh just fits in to the MCU so well. I think mostly everyone figured out Eleanor was up to something, but damn. So I guess Valentina is working for Kingpin? She's the one that handed Yelena this assignment. I never read the Hawkeye series nor have I seen D' Onofrio's Kingpin, but I've heard great things about both.

She's the weakest part of the show IMO. I get she's a fan girl of Hawkeye, but some of her dialogue is just cheesy as hell. Again, I never read Hawkeye so IDK if she's doing the character justice or not and this is my first impression of her. She was good in this episode, especially since things are taking a more serious tone.

Also, Clint's wife is a real one. Isn't she a superhero in the comics or something?


Also also glad Maya is connecting the dots on her father's murder. She's already much, much better than Karli but I didn't want them to take her down that same tragic villain character path. Maya's character deserves better.

I love that they just nonchalantly confirmed Kingpin. I think the Netflix shows are not canon and they are just reusing actors. With the multiverse they can just say those were a different universe lol

Lets fucking go Vincent D’Onforio!

He was awesome in the Daredevil series. The writing for his character got a bit repetitive by the end of S3, but the actor himself did an amazing job with Kingpin.

Happy as hell he’s getting re-introduced in the MCU. Especially now that his antics have room to breath and it isn’t solely him “just as planned” everything with everyone lol.

Echo mercing Kingpin, Kate going to live with Clint and his family (and his agent wife!).

The tree scenes were absolutely stunning. And i cracked the fuck up at the owl.

And Clint got to be a family man!! I really don't think i could be happier.

Kingpin certainly isn’t dead though. Question is if we’ll have to wait until Echo’s show to see what happened.
And something I only found out after, but Hawkeye’s wife confirmed to be Mockingbird. (The 19 on the back of the watch)

After Loki this is my second favorite MCU TV finale. Overall I'd say Loki > WandaVision > Hawkeye > Falcon and the Winter Soldier from best to worst series so far. Not that FatWS is bad, it's just not at the top of my list.

Pretty sure we can all agree Kingpin is not dead. No way they'd introduce a big Marvel villain like him to take him out right away. I loved every minute of Yelena in this and can't wait to see her pop up again, plus I'm glad she got closure on Natasha. I fully expected Eleanor to die in this episode, but that would be pretty dark to make Kate an orphan on Christmas Eve.

But hey she can literally take a car from parked to full speed, enough to knock Kingpin thru a window and partly break a wall, in like a second and a half. Kate grew on me these last two episodes. Before I only cared about Hawkeye and she was just this annoying character constantly quipping and reminding the viewer that it's a Christmas show. Steinfeld fits in the MCU nicely, and I'm hoping we'll see her in a movie sometime. I liked what they did with Jack and hope to see him in season 2. Also Echo looked smoking hot with her hair down!

I’m curious how people who haven’t seen Daredevil view Kingpin.

from Daredevil, you’re shown that you definitely don’t fuck with him or your in for very bad time. Like, when Mama Bishop was saying she was out, I was getting extra dread because I feel like if this was in Daredevil, he woulda just smashed her head into his desk. But obviously Marvel can’t go that route. They did give him a fucking power up though. Definitely didn’t expect to see him ripping car doors off and taking explosions. (The car hit really did take me out of it though just for how the logistics of it happening made zero sense.

I can answer for my own experienece Souj; I've never seen Daredevil and only know Kingpin at a high level. He does come off as just a mysteriously tough crime boss. Not as menacing as I would have imagined, but I chalked that up to just not enough time to let the character breathe. It's the same view I had of Clint, actually. He was just one of the weakest avengers for a long time to me until this show gave him an opportunity to show more about his personality, his combat abilities, and the cool trick arrows he uses.

The marvel super fans are all soiling their diapers that kingpin is dead, which we know he isnt, but what a way to end the series. I mean it's technically possible hes dead, Marvel has pulled weirder shit with the Ralph Bohner thing as an example, but he's too useful for content down the road.
