Think my only concern watching that is it's more or less a "kids save the world" flick. There'll likely be an explanation why Egon moved there relative to the paranormal outbreak, and a subsequent reason why the other Busters didn't. However, I also got the vibe that the world has basically forgotten the events of the previous movies.

Still, I'm curious, but really hope it's just more than bumbling into saving the day with Egon's hand-me-downs. Where the surviving old cast fits in will play a major part there.

Ive gotten the sense that some of the kids are kind of representative to their roles from the original. Wolfhard is leaning toward Venkman, Grace is Egon, Rudd is some odd mix of Winston/Ray, etc. I kind of see it taking off as Grace tinkers and learns from Egon's old stuff but eventually builds her own for the team. Less kids save the world trope and more kids figure out how to save the world if that makes any sense.

Also, wasn't it implied earlier that this midwest nowhere location was where Egon could dump all the ghosts without fear of them breaking loose in a populated area?

Wikipedia has it listed as that being the case and that she is Trevor and Phoebe's grandmother.

Seems like something that can be explained in a single line of dialogue, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they skip GB2. The trend in Hollywood seems to be skipping sequels lately.

I've heard from some it's average, but to be honest that's what I was expecting since the original was lightning in a bottle.

Either way will be nice seeing the surviving OG team get one last hurrah.

It's no original Ghostbusters but it wraps things up quite well and pushes the right buttons.

Good enough for me. Like I said I wasn't expecting a masterpiece, I just want a movie that pays tribute to the original and lets us see Peter, Raymond, and Winston suit up with the protons one final time.

Good thing about keeping my time off for tomorrow I can swing by the theater for the 3:00 PM showing and it will be dead. Or at least it was when I got my ticket online.


EDIT: Were the rumors true they got Rick Moranis to come back?
