The picture has been taken out of context. Apparently the school does all kinds of stupid body paint color themes like blue, white, etc. Incredibly tone deaf and stupid yes, but it doesn’t seem malicious.

That seems like the hot take until you pause for a second and think about the positions of power and privilege in this scenario, the climate of the country, etc. I'm not saying I disagree entirely, I'm saying young white teens behaving badly in a vaguely racist manner on a (private) school-sponsored field trip wearing MAGA hats is very different from the typical overly provocative pan-phobic group of religious zealots with a loudspeaker. The latter is something that, frankly, I grew immune to as soon as I spent a few weeks on a college campus - we've all seen dudes just like the Israelites on a street corner somewhere, many times. The former, however, is bit of a unique scenario - we know kids like this exist but we hardly expect to see them behaving in this manner in this context, and it's not too much of a stretch to see it as an extension of MAGA culture and the rise of Trumpism, which is what gives them a higher level of both notability and relevance. And as for the power dynamic, these kids are a lot more likely, given our social structure, to both come from and step into positions of wealth and power and thus their behavior is viewed differently.

I'm not entirely disagreeing with you because, yeah, this is an echo chamber lol. And anything MAGA is going to have a much bigger pull on the news cycle right now; I fully acknowledge this. Just putting my own nuance into the mix. Frankly those Israelites disgust me just as much as the kids, but the kids frighten me a lot more - not for what they are now, but for what their existence means.
