unless you're Milkster. Then it's America bad and worse than China and Russia even though we have 57 pts and they have 53 pts. Reason being is that even though 57 is higher than 53, it's still worse because the 4 point difference is crazy minuscule so why even consider it. Essentially 57 = 53 but really Milkster is saying 57 is less than 53. Makes total sense now my mind is changed

About the tomahawk stuff: For shits I asked my students today if they knew what it was, no idea. And I thought about it. People assume these kids should know it is bad because the internet exists, but I mean, should they?

What has been addressing this in these kids' generation?

Which modern day tv shows talk about how it's bad?

Hallmark movies?

youtube celebrities?

We know it's bad because honestly it became a vocal thing in our generation to stop it. I feel (super fuzzy memory, since it's not something I have spent time thinking about) like we as a generation would have realized it was bad around the time they started advocating to call Indigenous people "Native Americans" instead of "Indians." So we knew because it was so newsworthy.

I know that the Redskins has created controversy due to their name, but that's pretty much it that I've seen regarding disrespectful terms/motions to Native Americans in recent years. And let's not pretend teens are all avid news watchers either.

This was not a man they were expecting to meet. What are the honest chances that browsing youtube and tik tok would have taught these kids that was a disrespectful thing to do?

As to other stuff, I think my big problem is that people are using the truth, and assume it's ok to add lies into the truth. Like the basketball picture. The black make up is bad. Really bad. Definitely the school needs to stop that tradition and are stupid to allow it to continue.

This does not make it OK to now trash the other kid in the photo who, I'm gonna guess, is still alive and probably has a job n' shit for using a "white power symbol" when it wasn't even considered that at the time. If we want to stop the spread of misinformation, then we have to be responsible human beings and focus on what's true, and ignoring what's false but would fit into our narrative.




I also hate this "stop defending white kids" bullshit. I defend white kids, black kids, hispanic kids, all kids. It just so happens that THIS particular incident is about white kids, and no one here started turning it viral. But it IS now a viral talking point, and saying we should shut up and let the mob continue because they are white is dumb as fuck.


I really think people are getting old they aren't stopping to think of what kind of stupid teen they were back in the day. Honestly. Too many people are giving too much credit to idiot teens acting like idiots. Not newsworthy, but now people have made it so.
