2. It's an association to the Indigenous People and possibly the only one he knows or perhaps just happened to be the first thing he thought of.

I watched the full undedited video, and think these are dumb ass teens doing dumb ass things because teens don't fucking know any better or care and that's about 99% of teens in america and we shouldn't give this much a shit about it and give them death threats and try to get them suspended for doing what 99% of teens in america do.

NO WHERE have I ever said they shouldn't be punished.

No where did I say they shouldn’t be consequences. I am saying the consequences shouldn’t be suspension and death threats. And I think it fucking stupid as hell to imply I think minorities should be given harsher punishments when I just gave that Nazi example (done by minorities).


This may come as a shock to you, but there are other ways, and education has moved on to restorative justice practices.

Restorative Justice also includes things like peer mediation, community service, etc. etc.:

I can't seem to find Kentucky's cap, so they may not have one, but many (if not all) states have a suspension cap where schools are penalized if suspending over X amount.

Granted, this is a private school, but the point is in general states are working hard to reduce suspensions as they are not effective. Usually suspensions are reserved for things like drug sales and violence. Not being an idiot at an event.


I also want to remind everyone the tomahawk chop part, while bad, happens for about 3 seconds in an incident that was about an hour long (if you count both the Black Isrealites and Native American incidents), and the kid stopped when he noticed no one else was doing it. I think that alone taught him it wasn't ok. As for the chant, it happened for a few seconds longer, but even then the kids seem to get into it and start singing with the drum pattern. It doesn't look like they were mocking, just trying to have a good time in what seems like a really fucking weird situation to be in.

I don't know what to tell you, except you could spend hours as there's a million, and schools across the country are implementing it. This is not some new hip thing. Here's one study for you:

Guess what a suspension is to a kid? A day off to play Fortnite for 12 hours straight. It doesn't teach them anything.


[edit] to go further, suspensions are usually reserved for students who pose a physical threat to others, drug selling (in CA can't even suspend a kid for taking drugs, only if they sell), and/or weapons.

We suspended a great student once because like a fool he brought a slingshot into school. This was def a kid though that learned from getting suspended because he's normally a goody two-shoes.
