idk the character that well but she (despite not being from this universe) is apparently presented as a darker-skinned or afro-latina person or something. like I said, it was a small subset, but America Chavez was trending and there were more than a few complaints about her

The character in the comics is Puerto Rican from the Bronx (well in an alternate reality anyways).
She's certainly drawn as being of darker skin tone, but this is some extreme nit-picking even for your standard libleft twitter caricature
