Idk about canada, but parallel parking isnt required to get a license in america. Maybe you'll be asked to do it when you take your test, but it's not required to do so.

It depends on the state.

Like I've learned living in NOLA, it apparently wasn't until 2 years ago that using blinkers when you turn was taught to drivers, but I'd say that 90% of people with Louisiana license plates don't ever use their turn signals when changing lanes or making a turn.

Also was never asked to retake a driving or written test since then. Only once, just recently, after having to renew my license have they checked my vision as well. That's once in 15 years

Fun fact.

When I moved to CA I had to get my CA license.

I went to the DMV not knowing anything about what was required. Waited forever (per the usual) and kept telling people, "I just moved here and need to know what I need to get my license." Figuring it was some paperwork.

After like 3 hours of getting passed from place to place (took an eye test, etc.) they were like, "Ok you have to take the written test." I was like, "WAT, I don't know CA laws!!" Hell, I barely remembered specific CT laws. Like how many feet you need for various shit.

Took it anyway and went to the guy who graded it.

He noticed I was wearing a UConn shirt and he apparently had JUST won money the day before betting on one of their games.


I got my CA license and he never graded my test. ROFL.
