Does anyone know if we actually have a comics thread? Invincible has basically opened up a new door for me and I've spent far too much on comics in the past two weeks because of it and some recommendations from friends. Would be nice to scout out a comic thread for some more possibilities as well but all I see is the generic books one.

This is going to be a bit of a bump, no new news, just finished watching the first season yesterday ... -

It was a good show. Entertaining enough to keep me awake til 8AM because I was on the edge of my seat each episode wanting to see what happened next. I really liked the characters, the protagonist was kinda frustrating at times with the mopey-ness and occasional thick skulled actions he took, specifically with his GF, but minor issues and understandable, he's a high school kid whos basically got insane powers and is struggling to find his place.

One of my more notable (but still dismissible I suppose) complaints is I had absolutely no frame of reference or idea of anyones "Power" in this show. There were times where Omni-Man just straight up appears god-like, literally blowing up like half a planet in under 20 seconds by just moving really fast all over it, he's shown to have unimaginable and vast destructive power and shredding through concrete, steel, and materials we might not even understand as well as shrugging off orbital lasers and alien tech that was owning his kid/other heroes. Then a few episodes later he's getting man-handled/having difficulty with some dudes wearing metal hats made by a college kid. I mean he still wins, but they gave him more trouble than I just could reasonable dismiss as plausible. I mean sure they have metal hats/arms but the fleshy bits are still human, he should be able to literally just one-punch all of them or tear them in half. (which admittedly he eventually does tear one in half but damn, took him long enough)

IDK if I just missed some exposition as to why those Metal-Heads were unreasonably strong that wasn't "They have mechanical bits inside them", if so, thats on me

Side note, enjoyed the cameo appearances of Discount-Saitama in the Recruit-episode and later in the funeral episode.

I’d honestly forgotten Robot turned human last season.
When do new episodes come out? New baby keeping me up a bunch in the night is letting me catch up on a lot of shows (at the cost of my sleep and sanity)

Ending of episode 4 is so god damned good. This is probably a simplistic comparison, but it almost feels like a dragonball alternate universe where Goku went bad and Gohan was left to protect Earth against the Saiyans.

Mark giving his dad a hug and then telling him "fuck you" 90 seconds later was a little too real.

The Viltrumite telling Mark his mission is so rough. He didn't want to become his dad, and now he's going to be forced into it. I didn't read the comics and don't know how close the show stays to the source material, but I suspect Mark gonna fly home, tell Baby Billy what happened, then Baby Billy gonna go bonkers.
