    When your story relies on snow statues coming to life at convenient moments and acting out arguments that took place 30 years earlier, that’s probably a sign that your screenplay could do with another two or three drafts.

    But the catchy Broadway show-stoppers have been replaced by thudding rock-opera power ballads; the glacial clarity of the coming-of-age theme has been replaced by a flurry of mythological codswallop; and the urgency of Anna’s journey to bring her sister home has been replaced by the apathy of Elsa’s wish to learn about her past.

    I looked at the guy's other reviews and he actually just hates everything. That said, even though it has a solid 80%+ on RT, most of the reviews still mention how the story sucks. That's disappointing, I thought it looked really good in the previews...and they had so long to get it right. I wonder if the songs are good, as that's more up to personal taste.

    This is the "Let It Go" of F2 - "Into the Unknown";

    Panic! at the Disco instrumental version;

    Heard it when we were at Disneyland and caught the stage show of Frozen and they did a teaser clip with the full song. I don't think it will ever hit the levels of let it go, which I used to jokingly tell customers when I was doing Uber that it would be five bucks to skip the song if it came up randomly on my phone during the ride.

    Saw movie yesterday with the wife and kids. Animation is fantastic but plot is messy and stupid. Thank god the music isn’t as catchy as first movie and we won’t get another “let it go” craze. The movie will be a hit my kids loved it and by the end of the day that what matters to Disney.

    There is a post-credits scene and the credits themselves feature unreleased renditions of the soundtrack like Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) singing "Into the Unknown."

    My girlfriend dragged me to this and it was even worse than I expected. Apparently I’m going to be a shitty father because I had a pout on my face the entire movie.

    Probably good if you have kids but as a grown ass man that experience was pretty brutal.

    I actually didn't think the story was that bad, but I did feel like there were some parts that just didn't need to be there.

    They could have fleshed out the lore so much but the beginning and end are the best and most solid parts imo.

    I actually really enjoyed the film. I did go in with a low bar considering it's a sequel. I also always try to remember that this type of film is a family film and should cater to both adults and kids in a way that's balanced.

    To start, what I thought went horribly wrong:

    Spoiler: show
    Elsa's plot was a mess. I think that if this had been a solo Elsa film, then they could have smoothed it out, but her interactions with the spirits ended up being so rushed and pointless considering they were trying to give all the main characters a story. Also her finding herself by literally finding herself wasn't done well at all. With that being said, I strongly STRONGLY suspect that they plan on making a TV series for Disney+, which would make a fuckton of sense now that they introduced the tribe and magical creatures, et. al.

    Side characters: Thrown in with no purpose for a lot of them. Especially Kristoff's friend. Another reason I figure these are characters for a TV show.

    What I liked, which overcame what went poorly:

    Spoiler: show
    The jokes. This is where the family film really did well. Jokes for kids, jokes for adults, and everyone was laughing super hard at them. Kristoff's song was so out of left field it was amazing.

    Olaf's journey. This was perfect. A lot of kids who watch the first film went through the same changes, and I found him to be extremely relatable for my kids. Also, his death scene was bambi-level tears in our theater. So many kids crying I was initially, "WTF Disney." But thankfully, new Disney is not like old Disney and they brought him back.

    Kristoff as a Disney prince. I, like many moms, am trying to raise my son to not bottle up his feelings, and be kind, etc. And they did everything a modern Disney prince should be like in this new era. His like "My love is not fragile," was fucking awesome. Here is a guy who is able to express his problems, yet at the end of the day is able to support Ana and not expect her to just bend to him.

    The songs. Yes, there is no "Let it Go" powerful song, but I am actually thankful for that. These were still fun, and it means I won't be hearing the same damn song over and over again vs. actually wanting to hear the whole album. Quantity over quality worked well in every tired parent's favor this time around.

    Just got back from seeing it. The ending was by far the weak point. It just felt really rushed. Some side stuff I think could have been cut to flesh out the main plot a bit, but overall was very enjoyable.

    Also stay for the after credit scene. I nearly spit my drink when it finished.

    It was a good enough film pacing issues aside. By pacing I mean the projector dying multiple times during the screening. Free ticket to another show. I guess that's my Star Wars ticket.

    The animation was about what I expect from Disney though.
